GRANDMOTHER SPIDER

She is revered for spinning the Universe into existence, connecting all living things with her web, and gifting humans with the knowledge of weaving. She came to the first people's on Turtle Island during their time of hardship. She taught them the ways of dream weaving.

We often forget that we are all part of the same web. We often forget the deeper purpose behind the dreamcatcher.

Today, I am in gratitude for Grandmother Spider's sacred gift and her continued teachings. She is an ancient Elder. She has often appeared in my dreams to teach me her weaving ways.

I am a woman of Cree and Middle Eastern heritage. I started weaving when I began having my children. My dreamcatchers are woven with guidance from my ancestors. Each thread I weave is a connection to them. Last night I dreamt of my Ancestors. They were showing me that many people are making dreamcatchers and they are not made by Indigenous hands. This matters.

Sharing this custom Dreamer Creation I wove for a little person. I always love these colors and get excited when I get to weave them for others. I set sea glass and a precious gemstone in the center, it sparkles beautifully when it catches the sun. ✨️

Thank you to all who have loved my dream creations this last year. My season of motherhood has changed and so has the vision of my little shop.

I'm still here. Im still weaving dream creations. I'm just not doing trade shows. Instead, I've shifted into an intentional creation space. I've been doing custom orders and teaching workshops this year. It's kept my Dream Weaver nourished and connected to this special work.

Some of you may not be aware that my work extends beyond weaving dreamcatchers to teaching about dreaming. Dreamlodge is a once-a-month gathering for individuals interested in understanding their dreams.

We gather in person for those local to Grande Prairie and online for those unable to travel to us.

Spent the afternoon weaving with these 2 Dreamers. Loved sharing teachings and stories and listening to the messages of the dreamcatcher. Angels 🙏and peacocks 🦚emerged from the Dreamtime to bless us today! 🩵
