Let Go of Expectations—So Summer Can Actually Feel Good ☀️💛✨

It’s easy to get caught in the mindset of “I should be doing more” or “my summer should be more exciting”, especially when you see what others are doing. But the truth is—your summer/your life is your own! And what a gift!

Social media constantly tells us that we are missing out if we don’t board the next flight, chase adventure, and make every moment “memorable.” But in reality, there are so many others ways to do that without feeling the need to break the bank.

And with that, I’m reminded that what I have around me is more than enough to have the best summer.

A picnic with a friend. A spontaneous hike with your dog. Gardening in your backyard. Reading a book. Sitting on your porch with your favorite drink. Going on local road trip. These simple, present moments are summer too.

So you can let go of the expectations and the unnecessary pressure, because the best moments are often the simplest ones!

In a world that constantly pulls our attention toward what’s missing, what hasn’t happened yet, or what could be better, it’s easy to lose sight of all that HAS been provided.

His timing isn’t always ideal, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t good. Even in the waiting, and even in the uncertainty, I can trust that He is working things out for my good. And that truth is more than enough to rest in!

It’s been a good while since I’ve been active on here but it’s been on my mind for a while to come back around to the origins of this account which is to create a safe place where I can be utterly transparent and share my personal experiences, struggles, and lessons learned thus far in life. And in turn, a place where YOU feel invited to do so as well!

If you know me, you know that I am incredibly passionate about the shared human experience and being able to resonate with others so that we can be strengthened, encouraged, and inspired by one another. I’m forever grateful for the season that my Candle Business served in my life as it allowed me to meet so many amazing people and have meaningful genuine connections that I still have to this day. With that said, I continue to pray that this account will be a blessing to you and help all of us, including myself, to seek the BEAUTY IN THE midst of all life’s CHAOS.

Here’s to continued healing and growing emotionally, mentally, and spiritually together while embracing ALL versions of ourselves that we have yet to meet in this crazy, but beautiful, journey called LIFE. ✨🌱
