Maybe itâs not âbad enoughâ to go see a doctor.
Maybe you donât think it warrants another prescription.
Maybe you just need a little support.
Trouble sleeping? Feeling stressed & run down? Digestion feeling off? Skin acting up? Looking for some extra support through seasonal changes?
These are the kinds of everyday things herbalism has been used for for a very long time.
And there are so many ways to work with herbs. Teas, tinctures, capsules, oxymels, salves, creams, serums & more.
Herbalism isnât about replacing your doctor or pretending herbs can fix everything.
Itâs another tool.
A pretty cool, plant based way to support your body & your everyday wellbeing. đ

When people think of herbal medicine, tinctures are usually the first thing that come to mind.
But theyâre only one way to work with herbs.
Some people love tinctures because theyâre quick and convenient.
Others canât stand the taste.
Maybe youâd rather sip a cup of tea in the evening. Maybe capsules fit your routine better. Maybe what youâre looking for is a topical preparation like a salve, cream, or serum.
None of those options are âbetterâ than another.
The best herbal preparation is the one that makes sense for you and one youâll actually use consistently.
Herbalism should work with your lifestyle, not add another thing to your to do list. đż

What if the âbestâ herb for your friend isnât the best herb for you? đż
Take chamomile, for example.
Most people think of it as a herb for relaxation or sleep. But I wouldnât automatically reach for chamomile just because someone tells me theyâre having trouble sleeping. I want to know why theyâre not sleeping.
Are they feeling wired after a stressful day? Are they waking through the night? Are there other factors affecting their sleep? Are they taking medications? What does their day-to-day life actually look like?
Because those details matter.
Herbs are incredibly versatile, but herbalism isnât about matching a herb to a symptom. Itâs about understanding the person sitting across from me.
Thatâs the biggest difference between a premade tincture and a custom formula.
A premade formula is thoughtfully crafted with a general purpose in mind. A custom formula begins with a conversation. Together, we explore your health history, lifestyle, wellness goals, and the herbal preparations that make the most sense for you.
Because herbalism isnât one size fits allđż

Next Chapter đż
When I started this little apothecary, I dreamed of creating herbal products that helped people reconnect with the power of plants. What I didnât expect was how much this journey would teach me about the kind of herbalist I truly want to become.
As I continue my education in herbalism, I find myself being drawn more and more toward personalized herbal care: listening to your story, understanding your unique needs, and creating formulas specifically for you.
Because of this, Dandelion Herbal is entering a new chapter.
Over the coming months, Iâll be phasing out my ready made tinctures & oxymels. The remaining inventory will be available at my summer markets, so if thereâs a favourite youâve been meaning to grab, now is the time. đż
Moving forward, tinctures & oxymels will be available through herbal consultations and custom formulations, created with your specific needs in mind.
Youâll still see many of your favourite topical products around, but youâll also start seeing more of my focus shift toward consultations, education, and deeper herbal support.
Iâm so grateful for everything Dandelion Herbal has become, and Iâm excited to continue growing it in a way that feels more aligned with the heart of herbalism.
Thank you for growing with me. đ

Bug season is back. đŚ
Soothe was originally crafted as an herbal after-bite salve to help calm itchy, irritated skin after mosquito bites, black flies & other summer pests.
Since its launch, customers have found themselves reaching for it for so much more. Dry, irritated skin, rashes, eczema flare ups, psoriasis patches & other itchy skin complaints have made Soothe a staple in many home herbal first aid kits.
What makes it different? As an herbalist, I formulate with plants first. đż
Plantain, burdock root, linden, witch hazel bark & tea tree were thoughtfully chosen for their traditional use in supporting irritated skin, creating a simple plant based salve that has earned a loyal following.
â Bug bites
â Itchy skin
â Rashes & irritation
â Suitable for ages 2+
Just in time for mosquito season. đ

Tis the season đź The âw**dâ that was never really a w**d at all.
Dandelions were the first plant that made me stop and question things. As kids, my sister and I would blow the seed heads into the wind, make wishes, and pick little yellow bouquets for our mom without thinking twice about whether they âbelongedâ in the yard.
Then somewhere along the line, weâre taught theyâre a problem. Something to poison, rip out, and fight against. Meanwhile, this plant is medicine from root to flower. It feeds pollinators, helps the soil, survives basically anything, and shows up exactly where it wants without asking permission. Honestly? Iconic behavior.
Dandelions changed the way I look at plants and life in general. It made me realize how fast people dismiss things just because theyâve been told to. This plant is tough as hell, wildly useful, stubborn, healing, and still underestimated. That alone makes me love it even more.
What else would I name my business after?
Dandelion Herbal came from everything this plant represents to me: resilience, intuition, questioning the rules, and finding nourishment in places people overlook. It reminds me to trust myself, stay curious, and not automatically buy into what Iâve been taught.
Plus, some of my favorite memories live in this plant too; wishes floating into the wind, tiny bouquets in sticky little hands, and that feeling of finding magic in ordinary things.
Dandelion Herbal was named after this plant because it reminds me that the things people overlook are often the most powerful.
So hereâs to the dandelions. Scrappy, healing, impossible to get rid of, and doing exactly what they came here to do. đź
One whole year of Dandelion Herbalâs collaboration with Northwestern Naturopathic! Bringing herbal magic to Kenora and surrounding communities has been such a joy!
