Meet swamp milkweed: with its elegant, pointed leaves and beautiful rosy-pink flowers, it's a true pollinator paradise! 🌸

Despite its humble name, swamp milkweed plays a crucial role in supporting monarch butterflies. 🐛 Monarch caterpillars (pictured) exclusively feed on milkweed, and adult females preferentially lay eggs on these plants. Beyond monarchs, swamp milkweed attracts fritillaries, skippers, bumble bees, sweat bees, and various flies.

Native to MB, ON, QC, NB, NS and PEI, planting swamp milkweed helps bolster local pollinator populations! 🦋
