When skin lacks water, I often focus on hydration first before reaching for a richer cream.

After more than 25 years treating skin, I’ve learned that many women don’t actually need a richer moisturizer.

They need to understand what their skin is asking for.

Sometimes it’s oil.

Sometimes it’s water.

And the solution starts with knowing the difference.

Seeing Belle en Rose on the plaza sign this week made me pause and reflect on the last four years.

When I opened Belle en Rose, I thought skin would be the main thing I’d be helping people with.

Four years later, I’ve learned it’s rarely just about skin.

I’ve learned that skin changes with life. Stress, hormones, menopause, lack of sleep, busy seasons, and life’s ups and downs all leave their mark.

I’ve learned that most people don’t need more products. They need someone to help them understand what their skin is trying to tell them.

I’ve learned that consistency beats perfection. The clients who see the best results aren’t doing everything perfectly — they’re simply supporting their skin consistently.

And I’ve learned that most people want the same thing.

Not flawless skin.

Not younger skin.

Just skin that feels healthy, comfortable, and like themselves again.

Four years, hundreds of treatments, and countless conversations later, I’m still grateful to do this work every day.
