سال ۲۰۰۵، اسرائیل بدون جنگ و حتی بدون مذاکره، به صورت داوطلبانه از نوار غزه خارج شد. ارتش اسرائیل یهودیان ساکن غزه را با زور بیرون آورد و ۲۱ شهرک اسرائیلی تخریب شد، اما کنترل غزه به تشکیلات خودگردان فلسطینی سپرده شد.
دو سال بعد، حماس با حمایت جمهوری اسلامی در یک کودتا، تشکیلات خودگردان را کنار زد، بسیاری از فلسطینی‌ها کشته یا آواره شدند و اساسنامه‌اش بر محو اسرائیل بنا شد. نتیجه امروز این تصمیم‌ها بر همگان واضح است.
اگر جمهوری اسلامی نبود، فلسطینی‌ها احتمالاً از ۲۲ سال پیش کشور مستقلی داشتند و شاید زخم‌های تاریخی‌شان کم‌کم التیام می‌یافت. اما سرطان جمهوری اسلامی، عراق، سوریه، لبنان، فلسطین و یمن را بیمار کرد. زمانی که این سرطان از منطقه برود، همه کشورها فرصت بیشتری برای صلح و ثبات خواهند داشت.

Altered Carbon is a dark, cyberpunk science-fiction series that uses the future to hold a mirror to our present.

Set more than 300 years ahead, humanity has discovered how to separate consciousness from the body. A person’s mind is stored in a device called a stack, and bodies—called sleeves—are interchangeable. Death is no longer permanent… but equality, justice, and meaning are.

At the center of the story is Takeshi Kovacs, a former elite rebel soldier (an Envoy) who is brought back to life in a new body to solve a murder. The victim is Laurens Bancroft, one of the ultra-rich immortals known as Meths (short for Methuselahs), people who have lived for centuries by endlessly replacing their bodies.

What begins as a murder mystery quickly becomes something deeper.
