ECSTATIC DANCE 🌳 ReImagine Co. 🌌 Sept. 7 from 7-9pm ✨ $10 or free for ReImagine members (sign up for a membership at ReImagineCo.ca/collective) A bit of a different vibe for this event! Do you want to feel like a small and strange little creature in a dark forest? Come move your earthly vessel for this ecstatic dance session at ReImagine Co! Never been to or heard of ecstatic dance? This is an alcohol-free event. The room will be dark, shoes will be off (feel free to wear socks if you want), no phones, and no talking in the room. This isn't about looking good or looking cool. It's about experimenting with movement, playing, and energetic release! Dance, stretch, jump, flail, lay on the floor, whatever kind of movement you want to do is welcome! No performance and no expectations! Come a bit early to get settled into the space before we get started 🌀

DJ 101 Workshop at 206 Piccadilly St, Monday 31 August.

Mixing, music selection, transitions and the gear. First time behind the decks or ten years in, it is the same room and the same table.

Not a class and not a competition. People who know things share them, and questions are the point. Bring headphones and a USB if you have them, though neither is required.

Coffee Rave · Rhythm & Beans Vol 2 at 206 Piccadilly St, Saturday 29 August.

A family friendly cafe and patio party. Come dance, sip and soak up the energy. House and tech house from BAT5Y, CVRE and Mikey the Kid, plus games, crafts, vendors and books. Coffee, cookies and donuts by Reimagine, out on the patio.

2 to 6pm. All ages. $10, kids 14 and under free, and free for Collective members.

RED · A Kinky Affair, from Cage Productions, at 206 Piccadilly St on Friday 28 August.

Latex, leather, bass. Red Light District meets Berlin underground. Techno, dark dance and tech house.

DJs Basha, Kow, Mik and Rye. Performances by Jessie James, Kat Daniels and Cookie. Dancers and flow, local vendors, harm reduction and s*x ed, and a red room.

Dress code is latex and leather, vegan leather preferred.

Doors 10pm, until 3am. $25. Nineteen plus.

Metropolis (1927) at 206 Piccadilly St this Wednesday.

Fritz Lang's silent epic in the restored colour version, and the full film rather than an edit. Popcorn, juice and soft drinks are there.

BYOC: bring your own comforter. A lawn chair, a blanket, a pillow, whatever makes you comfy. It runs two and a half hours.

Community Fashion Swap today at 206 Piccadilly St, 4 to 8pm.

Bring gently used clothes and take home something that is new to you. No money changes hands, and whatever is left over does not go in a bin.

Everything dropped off at last night's Pride BBQ is already on the rails.

Free to come, free to take.

Ecstatic Dance this Monday at 206 Piccadilly St.

Substance free and conversation free, for the whole two hours. No steps to learn, no choreography and nothing to perform. Some people move the entire time and some sit at the edge and listen. Both are completely fine.

Pride BBQ tonight at 206 Piccadilly St, 6 to 9pm.

Grill on at six. Alkanyte, then Piggy999, then Urbanite Fantasy. Burgers, vegan hot dogs and salads, plus kandi, perler and a community canvas.

Bring gently used clothes and drop them off tonight. They go straight into tomorrow's Community Fashion Swap in the same room.

$10, and free if you are a Collective member. No need to book, just come.

Speed Friending is back at 206 Piccadilly St, Tuesday 25 August.

Because making friends as a grown-up is really, really hard. You are put in a group of four or five with a prompt to get you started, then a few minutes later the groups change. At the end there is time to go back to whoever you clicked with.

No networking, no need to be interesting, no standing on your own in a corner. Come on your own or bring a friend, and leave with a few more.

6 to 8:30pm. $25, free for Collective members. The first two filled the room, so it is worth booking ahead.
