September is Su***de Prevention Month — Let’s talk about our men. 💚

In our communities, men are often taught to stay quiet, "tough it out," and carry heavy burdens alone. But silence carries a heavy cost:

• The Reality at Home: In Saskatchewan, approximately 195 people lose their lives to su***de every year. Our provincial su***de rate sits significantly higher than the national average.

• The Gender Divide: Across Canada, men account for roughly 3 out of every 4 su***de deaths. Men are nearly 3 times more likely to die by su***de than women.

• The Silent Load: Men between the ages of 40 and 64 face some of the highest rates, yet studies show that nearly 2 in 3 Canadian men have never reached out to mental health services.

Real strength isn't suffering in silence. It’s having the courage to check in on your brother, your buddy, your dad, your coworker — and having the courage to say, "Things are tough right now, and I need a hand."

You don't need to have all the answers. Sometimes just asking, "How are you really doing?" and sticking around to listen makes all the difference.

Every year, September 30th is a day to reflect, learn, and honor the survivors and families affected by the residential school system. Every Child Matters.

This day holds a deeply personal place in my heart. My children are Indigenous, and as a parent, ensuring they grow up proud, connected, and supported is everything to me. Honoring Truth and Reconciliation isn't just something I do for my business, it’s personal for our family and our local community.

To help raise awareness and give back directly to our community, I’m running an Orange Shirt / Merch Fundraiser. The order will be placed on September 10th.
