Coming back from a concussion sucks. One day you feel great and the next you are completely exhausted. I’m just starting the return to play portion of my protocol and will hopefully be back to games in about a week. I’m taking the time to do it right.
Might be time for a new mask though. I’ll be using this she-ra themed beauty until the replacement for my Wonder Woman mask arrives and gets painted. Needs a new harness though the sty level on this white elastic one is 0/10. Thinking blue.
Part of a concussion is the mental health aspect. I have been eating my emotions and of course resting instead of exercising. I feel gross. My goal today is a 30 minute walk on the concourse at the local arena. It’ll give me a chance to start acclimating to the sounds of the arena.

Trying to follow a nutrition plan can be tough, but one of my favourite recipes is no-sugar added jam. Really easy to make and a perfect sweet treat to add to my fridge.

Every now and then I find a gem of a recipe. This is a juicy, yet crispy chicken tender made from real chicken, spices, whey protein, lupin flour, oat fiber and the unsung hero baking powder. Sounds awful, but hands down the best homemade chicken fingers I’ve ever had.

Finally got some major life crap out of the way and now I can focus on my health again. I put weight back on, but have since lost 20 since the spring. I’m working one day at a time, 1 pound at a time. I’ve committed to walking 2.5 million steps from Sep 1, 2022 to Aug 31, 2023. But winter hockey is back and I’m excited.

So I’ve been struggling lately, but returned to a low carb life style. To lose weight? No. To be a size 2? No. Because I feel so much better not eating grains and sugar. Even with the Michel-Bob, this is still only 6 g of net carbs, which is just fine after 3.5 hours of hockey today.
