How much plant it takes to produce an essential oil
Some plants produce less oil than others when distilled. As a result, more of some plants are needed to produce the same amount of oil. For example, a quality Rose essential oil is very valuable due to all the effort it takes to cultivate the flowers and all the raw botanical material it takes to produce the final product. It takes approximately 5,000 painstakingly harvested pounds of fresh rose petals to make just one pint, or 16 ounces, of Rose essential oil. A 5 ml bottle of this oil is 0.17 fluid ounces.

Winter is a time of rest, a time to sleep in and focus in as we slowly move towards longer days. And while we want to fully honor this season and be present in it, it can sometimes lead to feeling a little blue. On the days when you are feeling the need for a little sunshine, add this blend of Lemon, Peppermint and Orange to your diffuser! Citrus oils are known to be bright and happy, and Peppermint is crisp and fresh, making this the perfect combination to brighten your spirits.

Sunny Day
6 drops Lemon
4 drops Peppermint
3 drops Orange

You can also easily transform this blend into roller recipes and sprays!

To make a 10mL roller: triple the number of drops to make a total of 35-45 total drops, add a carrier of choice (we love V-6 Vegetable Complex) and you’re good to go!
To make a 2oz spray: double the number of drops to a total of about 25 drops, add a splash of witch hazel and fill with filtered water. Spray on upholstered surfaces, bedding, rugs, anywhere you want to freshen!
