Cold infusion is more than just putting tea in cold water.
When herbs steep slowly in cold water, the extraction happens gradually, creating a smooth, refreshing cup with less of the bitterness or astringency that can sometimes come from hot steeping, especially loose leaf.
This is actually the method I use throughout the summer to make the tea bases for drinks at the Nurture Tea Bar, specifically when using the summer teas that are formulated with more gentle herbs and flowers. It gives a smooth, flavourful infusion that works beautifully in refreshing summer drinks!
How I cold infuse:
🌿 Add loose-leaf tea to cold water
🧊 Refrigerate for 6–12 hours
🍋 Strain, pour over ice & enjoy!

Sourcing locally is a core part of my business. From the teas I blend to the tea drinks | create, I intentionally look for ways to support local growers and producers. Every year, I challenge myself to expand what I can source locally, whether that’s growing more plants myself or sourcing from incredible farms in our region.
Garnish with Flourish Edible Flowers is the perfect example of what local sourcing means to me. Knowing Samantha’s farming practices, passion, and the heart she puts into everything she grows makes it easy to support her. l absolutely love incorporating her beautiful produce into teas, tea bar setup, and handcrafted drinks✨
