What a cool idea. I saw this in the summer in Vienna but the "parklets" were being used as patio space for restaurants.

'Parklets' coming soon to Ottawa's Vanier, Glebe neighbourhoods Four Carleton University architecture students have won a grant from the Vanier BIA to build a new type of community space that has been popping up all over North America called a "parklet."

Was minding my own business, wandering around before an appointment and stepped into the gallery at city hall and saw this. These 2 pieces were next to each other, not sure if they belong to each other but i enjoyed them both, not what I expected! My, I wonder what Trevor did?!

Investigating local artists for the last few days for some of my clients. 1st Enriched Bread Artists Open Studio - what a great space and what great interesting art work. Christopher Solar Studio furniture and artists Gale Kells, Sarah Anderson, Bozica Radjenovic (in order of photos) among many others.... Then to Loft upstairs with more great artists: The Hero's Journey - little boy on a diving board & pet portraits of hamsters!? (really sweet, funny and endearing). Both spaces have something for everyone, abstract works to something lighter. Then on to Central Art Garage's Friday night for Jessica Bell (last photo). Amazing! (By the way EBA is on the rest of the weekend as well as next weekend - check it out!)

The best chairs in life are free! I found the chrome chairs (a pair) at a garage sale for 5$ each and had them recovered. I found the bentwood chairs (also a pair) in the trash and had them refinished. Also pulling off the vinyl on the seats leaving this. I love it!

Mostly Danish Furniture opens at 1000 Wellington West in Ottawa.
Terrific array of Swedish teak and old style solid wood Chinese furniture as well as some local talent on the walls. They're final location apparently! [email protected]
