💀🌸 Catrinas will always hold a special place in my heart.

Before face painting became such a major part of my work, Catrinas were one of the gateways that led me into the world of artistic makeup. 🎨✨

I love creating them because they aren’t just about “pretty makeup” they are steeped in history, tradition, and culture. 🇲🇽🌺 Every detail, flower, color, and element has a story to tell.

For me, painting a Catrina is also a way to stay connected to my roots and share a piece of my culture through art. ❤️

That’s why I never tire of creating them. Each Catrina turns out unique, as I pour a little bit of my creativity, my growth, and above all my love for art into every single one.

💀🌸 Catrinas marked the beginning of a very special chapter in my journey as an artist... and they remain among my absolute favorites.

🇲🇽

🎨 “Why is it so expensive if it’s just a few drawings?”

Because what you see at the party is only a small part of the work.

When you hire a professional face painter, you’re not just paying for the minutes the brush touches a child’s face. You’re paying for everything before, during, and after the event.

✨ What usually goes unseen:

🎨 Preparation & practice — Hours of practicing techniques, blending, speed, symmetry, and adapting designs for different ages and preferences.

🖌️ Professional materials — High-quality paints specifically made for cosmetic/face-painting use, selected with skin safety in mind and meeting applicable FDA requirements, plus brushes, sponges, cosmetic-grade glitter, gems, towels, and other supplies.

🧼 Hygiene & sanitization — Cleaning, disinfecting, and hygienically handling materials before, during, and after every event.

🚗 Travel & setup — Loading equipment, driving to the venue, parking, unloading, setting up, tearing down, and loading everything again.

⏰ The clock doesn’t start when I arrive. One hour of face painting can mean several hours of total work when preparation, travel, setup, and teardown are included.

🛡️ Insurance & professional responsibility — Running a professional service comes with insurance, liability, and other business obligations.

📚 Ongoing training — Continuing to practice, learn, and improve to provide beautiful, fast, and consistent designs.

📱 Behind-the-scenes business work — Messages, quotes, bookings, purchasing supplies, inventory, content creation, social media, and scheduling.

💰 Business expenses — Materials, transportation, equipment, maintenance, advertising, taxes, commissions, and more.

❤️ And most importantly: experience.

You’re paying for an artist who can sit with a child and, in just a few minutes, turn an idea into something that makes them smile.

So remember:

You’re not paying for “just a few drawings.”

You’re paying for the knowledge, practice, materials, hygiene, time, travel, preparation, responsibility, and hard work behind every painted face.

🎨 There is far more work behind the brush than meets the eye.
