My name is Lizz. I am a Registered Massage Therapist and a Certified Prenatal, living and working in rural Saskatchewan, Canada.

I am currently taking my Baby-Led and Well-Being specialist training. Lizz Bottrell, RMT

Lizz graduated from the 2-year Distance Education program at Western College of Remedial Massage Therapies (WCRMT) in Regina in 2016. She is registered with Natural Health Care Practitioners of Canada (NHPC), having graduated with 2200 hours of training. Her training includes Swedish-based therapeutic and relaxation massage, hot stone massage, treatment for TMJ dysfunction and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching - a form of stretching that utilizes the body’s stretch reflex to elicit an increased range of motion. She is passionate about educating her clients and empowering them to take control of their own health and well-being. Lizz takes a collaborative approach when developing a treatment plan for a client, taking the time to understand the client’s concerns and treatment goals. Because people play the biggest role in their own healing process, she develops a plan with her clients. Her plans incorporate massage, stretching, exercises, hydrotherapy and lifestyle adjustments. She lives in Oxbow, working Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in her home clinic, spending the remainder of her time at Lotus Tree Wellness and Healing in Carlyle. Lizz plans to expand her knowledge with continued education of additional modalities including Thai massage, reflexology, yoga, soft tissue release, injury prevention and rehabilitation, and postural dysfunctions. Outside of work, the 30-something-year-old is an avid adventurer, always seeking her next destination, whether exploring closer to home or hopping on a plane to fly across the world. She enjoys gardening, boating, snowboarding, yoga and playing tug-of-war with her black lab Keisha.

Yoga will be inside The Ralph Allen Memorial Museum - Oxbow, SK today due to the rain. Bring a towel or mat if you have one. I will have a large blanket for use as well.

Be sure to stick around to enjoy some of the activities Aurora has organized at the museum today. Phoenix, my son, enjoyed the activities on Wednesday! Also if you have not taken a tour of the museum yet this summer, today is a perfect day! They have made big changes within the museum and it is really enjoyable to walk around and read about Oxbow's history.

Hello!

I am back with another 2 youth yoga sessions this week - I am super stoked for these classes after a wonderful turnout at classes held at the pool.

This week's classes are going to be held at Ralph Allen Museum. Please bring a yoga mat or a towel. I'm excited to share a little mindfulness meditation this morning that I've been working with my 6-year-old. Teaching youth brings so much joy to me as kids are little sponges for information!

Parents or caregivers are welcome to attend too - some kids I have found to be a little nervous to come on their own so coming with someone they know might be helpful. The information I share can also be used by parents or caregivers at home with kids or teens.

Join me for another youth yoga session this morning at 10AM at the pool in Oxbow.

If you are looking for something for your kiddos to do this summer, send them my way! I’m excited to offer youth yoga again this summer.

The first 4 sessions will be held at Oxbow Swimming Pool at 10AM on July 14, 16, 21 + 23

All you need is a mat or a towel.

Please note that the swimming pool is not open to the public during this time and is only open for swimming lessons. There is no cost to enter at this time.

The classes are free for everyone thanks to a grant from Community Initiatives Fund. I am very grateful for the support to hold classes again this summer.

Stay tuned for two additional dates in August at a different location!
