Let’s pull back the curtain. Unrealistic outcomes usually stem from two things: 1) mismanaged expectations and 2) a lack of deep biological knowledge.
When you choose a medspa, you aren’t just paying for a laser session; you are paying for an understanding of skin anatomy and wound healing. If a provider doesn’t understand HOW your tissue responds to trauma, they CAN’T accurately predict your result.
The Med Spa Illusion 🏛️
We’ve all seen it: the gold-leaf accents, marble floors, and pristine lab coats. It feels like high end wellness, but for many, it’s just intimidating. You’re handed a stack of waivers before even meeting a provider but here’s the secret: The person ‘diagnosing’ your skin might just be a salesperson.
In high volume clinics, consultations are often handled by ‘Sales Consultants’ with ZERO formal medical aesthetics schooling. They are trained to ‘fluff over’ concerns to hit commission quotas and steer you toward ‘upgrades.’
The Result? 📉
You’re sold a dream by someone who doesn’t understand the biological reality of your skin. When the person selling the service doesn’t have to perform it, they over-promise. They sell the ‘upgrade’ for profit, leaving the actual educated practitioner to deal with the fallout when results don’t match the pitch.

Your skin doesn’t care about a sales quota; it cares about homeostasis and RESULTS. I’m Ursula🤍 and my approach to your skin & beauty is a bit different than what you’ll find at a standard med-spa. As a Professor of Medical Aesthetics and a practitioner of wellness, I’m obsessed with the “why.” The human body is truly fascinating and resilient.

In my practice & classroom teachings, I bridge the gap between high-tech Western science (think precision microneedling and lasers) and the grounded, ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I love using natural herbal remedies to treat common skin disorders at their root because healing should be holistic and long-term; not just a “quick fix” or band-aid service.

Here’s a “Professor” tip: Most of us are living in chronic high cortisol (stress) mode😩. Scientifically, that stress causes long-term mitochondrial damage, literally draining your cells of the power they need to glow and heal. That’s why I teach relaxation as a medical NECESSITY, not a luxury. My goal is to bring your nervous system back to center so your skin can actually do its job.

This philosophy is the result of over a decade plus in the industry and a curriculum I’ve built that goes far beyond the standard college textbook.
I’m a firm believer that to be a great teacher, you must remain a lifelong student which is why I still spend my days not just educating students at the college, but acting as a consultant and mentor for other practitioners in the industry who come to me for clinical advice and expertise.

We’ve been conditioned to believe that cellulite is a sign of neglect.
As a medical aesthetician, let me tell you the truth: Cellulite is an anatomical reality, not a medical “condition.”

The Science: 🧬
It’s all about your Fibrous Septae. Think of these as the structural pillars of your skin. When these pillars pull down and the natural fat cells push up, you get a dimple. It has nothing to do with your worth, and very little to do with the number on the scale.
It’s biology, not a failure.

The TCM Wisdom: 🍵

In Eastern medicine, we look at the “flow.” Cellulite often signals Dampness or Qi Stagnation. When our internal “drainage system” (the Spleen and Lymphatics) is sluggish, fluids accumulate. It’s your body’s way of asking for more movement, more warmth, and better flow, not more restriction.

How we improve the appearance:
While we embrace the body, we can also optimize its function.

To smooth the “frame,” we focus on:
• Lymphatic Drainage: Manual or mechanical massage to clear “Dampness.”
• Collagen Induction: Strengthening the skin (the “canvas”) so it’s thick enough to mask the pull of the septae.
• Circulation: Gua Sha or body brushing to break up “Blood Stasis.”
