It’s been awhile, we know.
Sometimes saying nothing, is saying everything.

Lockdown 3.0 has been darker for us than the rest, and we had made a vow that our small little space here would be used for necessary, positive content for your feed.
*insert weeks of disengagement here*

We are confident there is light at the end of this tunnel soon, and there is reason to celebrate today.
•
5 years ago today we welcomed all of you in to our new space at 106 Main Street, Bloomfield. It was just down the road from the previous location we occupied for 7+ years, but this move was special. We watched while it was transformed from four walls with no ceiling or floor, to a special place just for us, designed by us, to have and share with all of you.
•
It has felt like home since the door first opened on June 1, 2016. Not until yesterday when we saw each other for the first time since April for this photo, was it evident how homesick we are to be back in this space we have created. We are blessed to have built our lives around careers we love, and are able to share our days with people we are fortunate enough to call our clients and friends.

We can not wait to welcome you back. It’s going to be great. Keep your eye here for any updates on reopening. When we know, so will you.

Because... what else🤷🏻‍♀️

We took a minute to breathe and digest this latest “lockdown” over the weekend.

We will be closed alongside all other personal care services in Ontario until further notice. This one has been really hard to grasp, for obvious reasons (*insert video of packed shopping centres here*).

Reflecting on our last stint of being able to serve our clients - just over 7 weeks, for those wondering - we are grateful for one thing we often ignore.

Our INTUITION

Adding that sixth day of work, coming in that half hour early, and staying a couple of hours late “just in case we have to close again” was the right move. Balance is NOT the operative word when navigating a small business through a pandemic.

Hitting the pause button on our salon renovation until work is no longer an uncertainty also has proved to be right for us.

We did treat ourselves to a monthly subscription from to enjoy at our salon for the month of April. If that was our biggest misstep, we are blessed. They will be happily sitting in one of our homes, and will bring us joy regardless of where they are. We promise to keep them coming for May and June so we hopefully can share them with all of you.

As far as reopening, we all know the drill.

At Glow, we have been seeing only clients local to the area since we reopened after the first provincial lockdown in June.
We appreciate the patience of all new clients that called, as we awkwardly had to ask where you permanently reside... and you were all so gracious and understanding.
We also appreciate that we have been in business together for over 10 years, and business decisions like these are a luxury. If we could use our stability to help our community stay safe, we are and have been ALL in since day one.

If you live in the area but have to hop on the Glenora Ferry, risk your life on the construction site that is the Skyway Bridge, or wait for that little swing bridge in Carrying Place, chances are you aren’t technically in the H&PE health unit. We will be going through our appointment book, and will be in touch to cancel your appointment if need be.

We are so close to touching base with all who had a cancelled appointment. A few more days should do it, so hang tight.

We hit the ground running, and it was wonderful. Now we must rest for just a moment.
