If your flip-up installs are messy… this is why 👇
Clean sectioning isn’t optional in weft work, it’s foundational.
Before installing, your section should be:
• perfectly straight
• balanced to the head shape
• free of cross hairs
• tension-aware
Tips for my stylist:
Cross hairs might seem small, but they completely change the integrity of your install. When hairs from outside the section get trapped in beads, you create uneven tension and unnecessary stress on the scalp.
Tips for clients:
Your extensions should feel secure, not painful.
Burning, throbbing, welts, or soreness aren’t “normal” or something you just have to push through. They’re usually signs of poor sectioning or improper tension.
Cross hairs can lead to:
• painful installs
• scalp irritation
• welting
• breakage
• traction-related thinning over time
A crisp section allows the weight of the weft to be distributed evenly so the install lays flat, grows out clean, and feels comfortable from day one.
The flip-up isn’t what makes an install look professional.
The foundation does.
My biggest advice, slow down and really take your time making your sections clean on your next install. Wefts should never be advertised as an “express” service. Precision and accuracy takes time 🤍

Corrective blonding never fails to amaze me, and it blew my client away too 😅
Our goal was lighter and more blended, but we didn’t expect her hair to lift this light. Her test strand stopped at a level 8 and felt stretchy, so how did I get her lighter without pushing past the point of no return?
The answer?
Unlike a typical bond builder, K18 is a Molecular Repair System. It works on multiple types of bonds, including polypeptide chains and disulfide bonds, to reverse bleach, color, chemical, and heat damage on a molecular level. This means I can trust that bonds are being rebuilt as they’re being broken, allowing me to push just a little further while keeping the integrity of the hair intact.
That said, test strands are non-negotiable when it comes to corrective services. They guide your timing, placement, product choice, and most importantly, they show whether the hair can handle the process at all. If this client’s strand had melted at anything past level 8, we would have stopped and explored other options.
K18 is a game-changer, but even it has limits, sometimes the healthiest choice is a haircut and a fresh start 🫶🏻

✨ Layers on layers of red & dark permanent color → transformed into this soft, lived-in bronde 😍
Color corrections? Always a mix of blessed & stressed 😅
Here’s the truth: as gorgeous as this first session result is, my client wasn’t happy. Why? Miscommunication of expectations.
Color corrections are unpredictable, even with test strands. I explain what’s realistic in one session, but sometimes the vision doesn’t match what’s achievable. She’s so much lighter than her starting point, but her goal was beyond what her hair could safely handle in a single visit.
And here’s the hardest part of my job: it doesn’t matter how much I love the outcome… if my client doesn’t love it, I feel it too. 💔

Because even in the tough moments, these transformations are still worth celebrating. 💕

Let’s talk blonde maintenance—because if you want your colour to stay fresh, shiny, and healthy between appointments, these are non-negotiable.
1. Purple Shampoo ≠ Bleach.
I’ll say it again; Purple shampoo is NOT bleach!
In no way will purple shampoo make your hair lighter. In fact, when over used it actually will make your hair darker!
As a rule of thumb I always tell my blondes to NOT use purple shampoo for at least 4 weeks following their appointment. This allows the original toner to shine through as long as possible.
After four weeks, use it MAX once a week to cancel out brass and keep those cool tones cool. Just don’t overdo it—we want icy, not inky.
2. Turn Down the Temp!
Scalding hot showers feel amazing but they rinse out your toner like nobody’s business. Stick to lukewarm or cool water to help preserve your colour and shine.
Same goes for your styling tools! Always stick to a heat range of 350°-390° maximum. Anything hotter is not only overkill, but will also yellow your blonde.
3. Protect your Blonde at all Costs!
Your flat iron? Not your blonde’s bestie without heat protectant. Always spray before heat styling.
Always.
Heat protection should be used in wet hair and dry hair. Air or blow dry with your post shower leave ins, and spray a dry protection spray on your dry hair before heat styling. An absolute must to avoid crispy breakage, and brassy hair!
4. Hydration is Essential!
Lightening dries the hair out—it’s just a fact. Weekly masks and leave-ins are your ticket to soft, touchable, glossy blonde that looks as healthy as it feels.
I pretty much require all of my blondes to be on a routine at home pre and post appointment! Molecular repair will always keep your blonde looking and feeling its best.
5.Pre Book the Gloss
Toner doesn’t last forever, and that’s okay! A quick gloss every 4–6 weeks keeps your tone looking its best. No need to worry about overusing that purple shampoo 😜
Taking care of your blonde doesn’t have to be complicated—you just need the right strategy (and the right stylist… hi!).
