Labour Doula & Registered Massage Therapy Services My Name is Della Forest. I am truly blessed for what I do. Massage during pregnancy has many benifits.

I am a Registered Massage Therapist with advanced certification in pre-natal massage and deep tissue therapy. More recently I have found a passion for birth work and have obtained my Labour Doula certificate. Over the past year I have been very fortunate to serve some really wonderful families who have welcomed their new babies into the world. I am very excited to continue on this amazing journey as I find it very fulfilling and brings so much joy to my life. My passion for Birth work began with my own pregnancy. My husband and I welcomed our daughter into the world November 2010, and she is the absolute joy of our lives! Throughout my pregnancy and labour I educated myself to no end and fell in love with the natural birth process and what a miracle bringing a life into the world is. I couldn't help but want to be a part of this always and for many more times than I would experience it myself. It is so rewarding to be able to serve and empower women on their wonderful journey into motherhood and essentially welcome their babies into the world safely with respect, love, and gentle care. My role as a doula along with the physical & emotional support is also informative making sure the expectant parents are well educated enabling them to make the best decisions for their pregnancy and birth. Labour is unpredictable and unique to each woman and whichever path your birth journey takes you on, I am there to fully support you and honour your wishes to make sure you have the birth experience you want and deserve. Benefits of hiring a doula

*50% reduction in caesarean rate
*25% shorter labor
*60% reduction in epidural requests
*40% reduction in oxytocin use
*30% reduction in analgesia use
*40% reduction in forceps delivery

My advanced training in pre-natal massage along side my doula training allows me to offer a unique combination of physical & emotioinal support. It stimulates blood & lymph systems. It helps to relax and ease tension. It decreases swelling, relieves muscle & joint aches, pains, cramps & spasms. It reduces stress, anxiety, helps regulate pregnancy hormones, and overall helps your body prepare for labour and delivery. Studies also show that massage during labor is extremely beneficial as it improves labor outcomes and newborn health. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my doula package or to book an appointment for a massage. Della Forest RMT, CLD
