I've come to the difficult decision, to press the pause button on Wild Folktale Company for the better part of this year.
I've felt for a while now that I needed to create more balance within my life; that would allow me to focus on my physical and mental health, as well as my personal relationships and home life. I feel that with everything that goes into running a business and all the areas I'd like to work on for myself, I can't successfully sustain both right now.
This is not the end for us. Many seeds have already been planted to create positive changes for the future of this company. My hope is to come back later in the year, feeling a little more whole, with a balance between work and self. Wild Folktale Company is about self care and I want to emulate that not only through the business but through myself as well.
I plan to still post on Instagram periodically, giving snippets of my personal Journey and the growth of my company plans. I completely understand if this new content isn't what you're looking for right now but I hope you will stick around to witness the many amazing changes I plan to make this year.
My website will be shut down as of January 15th at midnight. Anyone who had been given a coupon code between April and October last year and had not had the chance to use it, can either use it this week or hold on to it till we are back again in full swing. It will not expire.
Thank you for all the support and love I've received this last year. It's given me confidence moving forward, knowing I can turn this small business dream into a reality.
I wish you all confidence and inner strength while pursuing your own goals and dreams this year.
❤️ Tanya

Strawberry season is beginning and rhubarb season is closing; it's time to make a big batch of tasty, strawberry & rhubarb jam! 🍓💗 This recipe doesn't use any pectin and half the sugar required when using pectin.
What does everyone make with the strawberries from their garden?
Scroll down to see the recipe I used! ⬇️
Rhubarb & Strawberry Jam:
5 cups of Rhubarb, cut into 1/2" pieces
2 cups of Strawberries hauled & halved
2 1/2 cups of Sugar
1 TBSP of Fresh Lemon Juice
Zest of half of a Lemon
Instructions:
1) Hull and rinse strawberries then cut in half. Rinse and trim rhubarb into 1/2" pieces. (Be sure to cut off the rhubarb at least 1" down from the leaves)
2) Add all ingredients to the sauce pan over medium heat. Once the mixture starts to bubble, reduce heat to medium-low. Set temperature so it continues to bubble but not violently when stirred. Continue to stir occasionally, until the jam has thickened.
Plan on cooking the jam for about an hour.
3) While jam is cooking sterilize four 1 cup jelly jars, rings and lids. (Boil in water for 10 minutes)
4) Have your bath canner ready with boiling water. Make sure enough water to cover jars by at least 1" of water.
5) When jam is ready, remove jars from the pot and fill each jar, being sure to leave 1/4" head space. Place lids & rings on to finger tight. (Make sure to use canning tongs so you don't burn yourself)
6) Transfer hot jars into the boiling bath canner. Put the lid on and set the timer for 10 minutes. (Adjust the time for your area's elevation)
7) Transfer hot jars into a towel, set 1" apart. Leave to cool for 24hrs. Lids will start to pop! Check that lids are sealed after 24 hours. If any didn't seem, put them.in the fridge and eat first! 😊
Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
