Building self confidence is a choice and as a very shy teenager with lots of acne, I thought all confident women were the ones with great skin. They were my role models. And if these women had skin imperfections they certainly took steps to make changes and look their best. The Mary Kay story was the story of a confident woman who started a business for women to build their confidence and make changes to be their best selves and be role models for others. I started to use the Mary Kay products and over time the Mary Kay products got better as did my complexion and my desire to share what I learned and loved about the company. Becoming an Independent Beauty Consultant the next step as my way of helping other women build confidence and feel good about themselves at any age.
