On this 11th day of the 11th month we remember those who bravely stood on guard for us. It is because of their sacrifice that we have the freedom we do today. It is not lost on me that so many paid the ultimate price with their lives and for that I am humbled and grateful.
I recently had the honour of being asked to contribute to this beautiful creative expression honouring those who sacrificed so much for this great country and for all of us. The immensely talented and creative mind of came up with this vision for a photo shoot to pay our respects. I am so proud of this collaboration.

No need to erase all the beautiful highlights we put a few months ago when the days were long and the sun was shining ☀️ Just because the temperature has dropped below those double digits 🌡 doesn’t mean you have to or “should” go dark.
I brought up a few highlights around the face and through the crown before shadowing the root and glossing the whole thing in deeer, warmer blonde tones.

This beauty trusted me with her virgin hair which hadn’t had colour in over 10 years! So where do we begin? A thorough consultation... always! Change is different to different people. In this case, we still wanted to stay brunette, but lighter, with ribbons of milk chocolate and hints of caramel running through her espresso base.

My response to “I want my hair to look natural”. It’s not the colour of your hair it’s how you wear it, but when someone asks me for something “natural” this is where my mind goes. Whether blonde or brunette, I like to use a variety of techniques... some “teasy-lights” throughout the top to leave natural depth at the root, sometimes I will balayage some of the ends to give it that “fresh from the beach” look, and always very fine “babylights” to frame the face to mimic what would naturally happen from being in the sun, keeping everything no more 2-3 levels lighters than the base colour.

This one’s for the ladies...How many of you regularly schedule time for yourselves? Time to take a yoga class, meditate, read a book or get your hair done? Time to do something that makes you feel good. Time to feed feed your mind, your body, your soul. Sometimes that may start from within, sometimes freshening up the exterior gives you that extra “pep in your step” to fave the world with a fresh outlook and put your best first forward. If you look good, you feel better. It’s not vanity if it helps your sanity. So go ahead... invest in yourself. Others will benefit too! 💁‍♀️
