🇨🇦 Canada Day at Urban Rez 🇨🇦
Today, as the country marks Canada Day, we reflect on what it means to build a *just*, *inclusive*, and *equitable* future—together.
At Urban Rez, we honour the land, acknowledge the lived experiences of Indigenous, Black, and racialized communities, and work every day to drive real change at the grassroots.
Canada's future is not just about celebration—it's about reconciliation, restoration, and creating pathways so that every young person, every family, and every community can thrive.
We’re not waiting for systems to change.
We’re building new ones.
From mobile units to reintegration programs, entrepreneurship training to mental wellness—we are driving change, one block at a time.
Happy Canada Day from all of us at Urban Rez.

What if the most powerful response to youth disengagement is not turning a blind eye—but showing up with purpose?
What if it’s not indifference—but intentional investment?
Not walking past—but walking beside them?
Not looking away—but leaning in?
Not apathy—but a radical belief in their brilliance?
At Urban Rez, we believe in placing youth at the center of the solution. That means more than keeping them safe. It means equipping them to lead.
Entrepreneurship, for us, is a powerful strategy for self-determination.
Through programs like Street Entrepreneurs, we provide access to workshops, mentorship, and tools that unlock ownership, vision-building, and community-rooted innovation.
When young people have the tools to lead, they create change that resonates far beyond themselves.
They strengthen entire communities.
This is how we build ecosystems of opportunity.
This is how we prepare the next generation for lasting significance.
This is what real empowerment looks like.
Join us in shaping a future where every young person is equipped to lead, build, and thrive.

Real change doesn’t wait. It drives in.
We just launched the Safe 6iX Mobile Unit—an on-the-ground initiative bringing entrepreneurship, mentorship, and healing resources directly to Toronto communities including Driftwood,
Danzig, Grandravine, Orpington, and Orton Park/Susan.
This mobile unit is the first of its kind in the city—created to reach youth aged 14 to 29 where they are, with access to the tools and support they deserve.
🗣️ “This is about presence. It’s about creating safe zones, showing up with resources, and turning neighbourhood corners into places of empowerment.” – Roderick Brereton
🗣️ “Toronto’s youth don’t lack potential. They lack access. This unit meets them where they are—with tools to transform their lives.” – Farley Flex Nwaigbo
