Wrapping up this “what a busy week” kind of week…with gratitude.

Gratitude for the peace-producing lessons and graces through each of my daily bread in the week.

In particular, for recognizing my moments in survivor mode much more quickly, with ease, and kindness, and seeking, holding steadfast in my lean for thriving mode (ok, sometimes in close proximity).

Sure, it took some hefty releasing of steam - chronic overthinking, fear, worry, shame, guilt, self-pity & loathing, rants, blaming, tears and hysteria outbursts. Not my finest moments by some standards, yet my finest fertile ground.

And I got there - that state where my well-being ROCKS & RULES - enough times in this week to declare, “Way to go Mer, now dance.”

In case you need this, as I did and will always…

With love. 🤍

A throwback gift of imperfectly perfect, with a whole lotta love.

Recently, a cross-border soul sister sent me this handcrafted mobile she made as a “care” gift to let me know she’s thinking of me during my recovery from this nasty Lupus “flare.” This gift was inspired by a warm FaceTime connection that inspired her artistic creativity with love, and my love for articulating expressed love.

The mobile was designed to hang from ceiling to ground so that the strung words would line up in the intended order for the declaration:

“I CHOOSE TO FIND MOMENTS OF PEACE AND JOY IN THE MIDST OF TODAY’S DAILY BREAD”.

So, this was the outcome – it hangs along my bamboo divider in my office, the only wall decoration I can install (hello, the divider leans against a wall, easy peasy!). The words are not lined up perfectly, and one has to read it from right to left - mind the upside down words too.

To me, this mobile and display as it is, reminds me of “The Beautiful Mess Effect” - the theory that people view their own vulnerability as weakness but others’ vulnerability as courage. It was developed by Anna Bruk, Sabine G. Scholl and Herbert Bless from the University of Mannheim (published in 2018 Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and building on the work of Brene Brown) and a brilliant reminder gem that the beauty of “messy” lies in embracing authentic human experience, vulnerability, and imperfection over forced perfection. It recognizes that true creativity, growth, and joy emerge from chaos, allowing for genuine connections and spontaneous moments rather than curated, sterile and contrived aesthetics.

Messy is brilliantly beautiful. Human. Enriching. Meaningful. Here’s to blessings within and all around, where we recognize and appreciate the beauty in imperfectly perfect moments. Because they fortify our resilience, patience, acceptance, faith, growth and steadiness in peace, joy, love. Even and especially when we and “things” do not line up the way we expect or want them to. A beautiful life is like that.🤍

I’ve got the look! 📸
What I look like on the inside when I choose to “let it go” to flow forward without losing my “marbles” from life’s doozy happenings. 🤭

When life happens, the unpredictable - those often uncontrollable events that occur - require us to choose how we respond.

We choose either reactively or proactively (yes, we choose either). It emphasizes that while we cannot control circumstances, we can influence how we navigate ourselves through circumstances and events.

We decide how to respond to life’s challenges.

It takes discernment before acting on a decision. It takes navigating through unexpected, sometimes difficult, situations and their accompanying emotional charges.

The proactive choice starts with a pause, to foster resilience, manage the feelings from emotions that come up, through acceptance and gratitude, one moment at a time.

So, let’s get out there and live life without losing our marbles. Life happens.

Choose wisely, flow forward, take the craziest look it leaves you with, from the inside, out, because it matters.🤍

This is not your ordinary “Good Morning Beautiful!”
…though maybe it should be.☺️

A mindful morning routine in my space involves an intentional coffee, prepared with intention from the moment I wake up to the when I open the coffee jar, to pouring and sipping – all this, to kick start the day, open for insights. This approach turns coffee from a desperate “fix” into a “precision tool” for deep work, sustainable energy and mental clarity for the day.

☕️💡 Concocting the brew-ha experience involves preparation before the delicious sips. It involves intentional, quiet activities to foster creativity and reduce anxiety.

☑️ Upon waking, while still in bed, and incorporating prayer, sinking into 5–10-minute gentle body movements and mindful breathing to shift from sleep mode.

☑️ After first morning ‘bio relief’, gargling with saltwater (rid the nasty mouth bacteria), hydrating first with 1 glass of room-temperature, mineral-rich, ionized Kangen water (key is delaying caffeine intake 60-90 minutes from waking to align with the body’s natural cortisol levels).

💫 Now for the Coffee concoction (while coffee brews):

☕️ Picking the right coffee cup that calls to you – so important!

☕️ Adding spices into that intentional cup - includes turmeric, cracked black pepper, Ceylon cinnamon, 3-5 whole cloves, cayenne pepper, cacao powder, and raw unpasteurized honey. I personally enjoy my first cup with a little coconut milk.

☕️ Having a second cup (no more after that) entails using the same cup and just black (whatever ingredients are left from first cup is fine).

💫Once poured, savouring each sip while catching a calming view or journaling. [calm is the operative here]

Thinking of you in my mindful morning over a cup of coffee goodness over here.

Whatever your morning elixir, enjoy your day from a morning that sets you up for a day of ease and flow goodness. Giddy up with cheers!🤍☕️

“Putting on the ritz” of gratitude isn’t always easy at the best of times but the get-back is priceless…

Why am I waking up at 5:00 each morning and tending to my fluidity and motility exercises in the midst of a recovery period that oftentimes still presents surprise blow ups of weakness, aches and pains?

It’s as though one minute, I’m on good track with my energy and physical coordination. Next thing I know, in a split second…fizzle and drain with pain (like yesterday’s fail to “move my groove”).

I hate being uncomfortable…physically, mentally, emotionally. And I’ve been very uncomfortable these past months in all these categories. Though I can still breathe, I have what I need, possibilities for even better are before me…and all this makes me smile from the inside out.

With every life happening, including in their split-second surprises, I continue to learn life’s like that, filled with “hard stuff” surprises, rude and exhilarating. Growth does not come when we are comfortable, when we live reactively or passively.

It takes having to unroot the things in life that keep us stuck to ignite that flow forward sometimes in all the categories in our life.

Customized therapeutic emotional management, meditation, prayer, tailored nutrition and body movement, rest, social connection are all ways that help me during phases of recovery, restoration and strengthening (growth).

This latest score (walking and leaning stick) helps for when I just need to lean and take a breath as I flow in the style of “putting on the ritz”.

And yours?

With much love and in God’s full embrace, enjoy your week and may it flow in ease with clear reminders to seize your moments just right, in the knowing that we can lean, catch a breath, and flow forward in the midst of life happenings.

In Gratitude and Faith, with style and “putting on the ritz”. 🤍

Sipping in a bit more from the final hours of 2025, with a full cup of Love and overflowing gratitude for every bit of it! …like this major feat…

I got up and took a shower today!🎉 - it was painful and exhausting, but I did it!

I know there are others out there who understand 😉.

Sending my big love and warm wishes for the coming New Year - may it be filled with good health, prosperity, peace, joy-filled and blessed moments in God’s full embrace for you and your loves some more!

Til then, mmmuah♥️🎊
