Embroider Buddy
Introducing Embroider Buddy®! We make custom embroidery as easy as 1-2-3! I know the plush toy market well and I had never seen such a bear. On to the next idea!
Embroider Buddy was created by Donna Kotzer Jacobs and is the result of more than three years' development work. "For the last four years I have been exhibiting at the Imprint Sportswear Show in the US. I had developed a nice line of bearwear and bears that imprinters could purchase," Donna explains. "However, I noticed that the embroiderers wanted a bigger imprint area, so I started to research a bear that one could embroider directly on the skin. The embroiderers needed a bear like EB, and it took someone in the toy business to create him. I look at Embroider Buddy as a child created out of the union of the toy and embroidery business." "I spent three years working and re-working countless prototypes to perfect the design. At first I was going to have a removable paw. One would take off the paw and embroider it and then put it back on - mabe with heavy duty Velcro? However, someone questioned whether the design would be childproof; could a chld pull off the paw easily? That was to Velcro the back of the Buddy. Then I thought: why didn't I use an opening at the bottom of the bear so that you could embroider the back as well? I was not happy with the Velcro so I tried an invisible zipper. "The inside was also an issue. Speaking to embroiderers I sensed they were not too keen on having to stuff the bear with handfuls of loose stuffing. Also, if a child opened the bear up there would be a 'stuffing mess'. I decided to create a 'pillow pouch' in the shape of the bear's belly that can be removed and inserted easily." The finished design is incredibly simple to use: all the embroiderer has to do is unzip the invisible zipper in the EB's backside, remove the pillow pouch and slip the body over the machine's plate to begin the embroidery process; once the embroidery is completed, pop the pillow pouch back insde, zip up your EB, and you're done! Embroider Buddy is seamless front and back, so it can be easily embroidered on either or both sides.

Christmas gets decided in October. Every buddy comes with a flat panel ready for embroidery, and getting a name onto it takes time.
Names have to be stitched, boxes have to ship, and the good pieces run out while everyone else is still making lists. Starting now is the difference between the gift you planned and the gift you settled for.
The list gets shorter every week.
It is all in the shop. Link in bio.
No licence, no crest, no waiting on approval.
A varsity jacket or a cheer outfit in your school’s own colours. The name goes wherever you want it.

Happy Thanksgiving, Canada.
The long weekend when the whole family lands in one house, the table gets longer, and somebody always shows up holding the toy they have had since they were three.
Wherever your table is this weekend, we hope it is full and loud.

Teacher gifts are the easiest order an embroidery business never asks for.
Every classroom has one teacher and twenty five families looking for something that is not another mug. A plush carrying the class name, the year or the school crest takes minutes on the machine and lands as a keepsake.
The orders for June start with the parent who sees one today.
Happy World Teachers’ Day. Retail partner registration is in our bio.

Every kid has a favourite animal, and it is never the one you would guess.
World Animal Day is a good excuse to let them choose. The lion, the giraffe, the shark, the cow, the tiger- each one with a flat panel on the belly waiting for a name.
The animal makes them curious. The name makes it theirs.
Swipe through and tell us which one you would name first.

World Smile Day started with one small idea: do something tiny, make one person smile.
A name stitched onto a plush belly is exactly that kind of gesture. Quick to make, impossible to throw away.
Somebody in your life still has the one they were given. That is the whole point.
Happy World Smile Day from Embroider Buddy®. Tag the person who gave you yours.
Every embroiderer who sees one of these asks the same thing. How do you hoop a stuffed animal?
You do not. You take it apart first.
There is a zipper hidden down the back. The stuffing comes out in pods, the belly goes flat, and it hoops like any other panel. Embroider it, put the pods back in, zip it up.
Standard machine, standard hoop, nothing new to buy before you try one.
Sixteen inches of flat belly on the bear, and a customer who comes back every baby shower, every birthday, every Christmas.
Save this for the next time somebody asks.
