Honoured to have designed and hand-painted this football live on-site for their Partnership Kickoff Event! Huge thank you to the team for trusting me with my vision for its design and for such a fun opportunity. šŸˆ

I think a lot of people can relate to the heartaches & headaches of ā€˜the Process’. What it means to be behind building your craft and doing the actual crafting. So I wanted to share an honest story of the complex feelings that come with doing something that you love - especially when what you love becomes work.

And as this football was completely painted by hand, you can imagine how many complex feelings that come with the beauty and pains of handmade work.

Do you relate to this on some level- whether you are a creative or not?

All the forces were against me this race (fought a flu, sprained an ankle 5 mins before the race, lost a gel mid-way, etc) but it was my first time running the oldest race in North America (Around the Bay) so I tried to do my best & have fun with it. A 30km road race that felt harder than my full marathon lmaooo. But I somehow PB’d LOL.

Who knew that something shorter could go that hard? šŸ«£šŸ‘€

Had to also bring back my artwork from my new series called BRING BACK RUNNING POSTERS (this one being the Around the Bay Edition). A series where I share concept posters and race kits for specific races as a way to bring back the appreciation for the creative / artistic side of running.

Let me know your thoughts on the artwork and also your thoughts on running a 30km race!! It’s often ran by those training for world majors like or Would you try it as well?

Hand-painted this football live on-site for ’s Partnership Kickoff Event! Huge thank you to the team for trusting me with my vision for its design and for such a fun opportunity.

Here’s some BTS shots of the making of the ball. I used colour and energetic design elements to drive the design through incorporating colour and the team names from each of the nine CFL clubs. CFL’s fierce Competition, dynamic team Action, and high energy are represented through the shape elements: fluid ā€˜blobs’ (teamwork), sharp edges (ā€˜energy’), my signature line art (connection that brings the entire country together for a single sport).

What do you think of the design? Let us know below and also - whose team you’re cheering for!

Between my illustration work, full-time 9-5 job, and race training, a great night’s sleep helps me feel refuelled, clear-headed, and ready to stay on top of everything. 😓

I’ve had the same mattress since high school and recently started sleeping on my new mattress. I’m quite active, which means I’m prone to aches & pains, so I personally love medium-firm mattresses- particularly Endy’s, which has extra back support and pressure relief for my shoulder and hips.

It’s honestly the perfect balance of comfort and support. I’ve been getting such amazing rest every night and I’ve been noticing the difference in how energized I feel throughout the day!

When I’m well-rested, I show up as the best version of myself. I feel empowered, energized, and ready to take on the day. Who knew that prioritizing sleep and recovery would make such a difference?

Shop Endy mattresses at the link in my bio. (or $100 off with my code: INKSCRPT100 )

BRING BACK RUNNING POSTERS: Around the Bay (30KM) edition. šŸƒšŸ»šŸƒšŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸƒšŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Specifically illustration/art posters. Ever since I ran my first marathon and made my own conceptual race kit, I’ve had this series in my mind: Bring Back Running Posters. And as an illustration artist who loves to run, I knew I had to take this matter into my own hands LOL. šŸŽØ

I had to start from the beginning - a race that I’ll be running myself for the first time this year! Around the Bay is a 30km road race in Hamilton, Ontario and is considered the oldest in North America.

[This idea was born out of a love for running designs and vintage running posters, stemming from a convo I had with .j.c (a certified Hamiltonian and sick runner, and who I consulted with for some of the motifs of this design hehe ā¤ļø)]

Reconciling femininity with my masculinity is a challenge I’ve constantly grappled with, and I’m sure many of you can relate.

Many people struggle with balancing an identity that is feminine due to the stigmatization of individuals who express themselves in feminine ways. We constantly have to prove ourselves, often to the point of sacrificing our femininity, in order to be taken seriously and not seen as ā€˜less competent’ as our more ā€˜masculine’ counterparts. Men, women, non-binary folks alike.

We’ve seen this countless times, and even more recently with how the USA Women’s Hockey Team was treated versus the Men’s. We see it in how people react to ā€œfeminineā€ styles on men, like cropped tops and form fitting silhouettes and painted nails. We see it in how ā€œfeminineā€ attributes as less desirable or admirable in the hierarchy of human traits. We see it in how ā€œfeminineā€ genres, such as romance, are viewed. They’re dismissed as ā€œguilty pleasuresā€ or considered ā€œlow browā€.

But there is beauty and joy in the co-existence of masculinity and femininity in all aspects of life, whether it be in fashion/style, music, art… Because being feminine doesn’t make you any less worthy.

We need to learn to embrace diverse expressions of femininity and accept that it can co-exist with typically masculine traits and domains, without one taking away from the other.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any stories/experiences you’re comfortable sharing in relation to this?

Proud of this team- regardless of the result! In the end, this is bigger than the game. The words ā€œHer first. Your last. Our bestā€, written on Marie-Philip Poulin’s hockey stick, is an ode to the rookies playing on this stage for the first time, an applaud for those who have been here before (and may be playing for the last time), and a reminder that in the end, it isn’t about the individual. It’s about the team - on and off the ice. šŸ’šŸ„ˆ

So this illustration and jersey design is for ALL generations. Future and current. For you - the Legacy, the Blueprint, the Masterpiece. And you - the Sketch, the Future, the Work in Art in the making. šŸ’›

If you’re proud of Team Canada, tag - regardless if it wasn’t the result we wanted!
