General information

Several years ago, on an adventure through the stunning country that is Peru, I noticed that many of the street artisans were making breathtaking pieces of jewellery out of knotted string with semi-precious stone focal points. I was very intrigued, so I would sit down next to the particularly friendly-looking artesaƱos and ask, "puedes enseƱarme?" ("Will you teach me?"). Naturally, some would say 'yes', and others would say 'no', but bit by bit, I began to assemble my toolkit of knots and techniques, with the intention to one day make jewellery that could stand beside the beautiful pieces that originally inspired me to take on the craft.
Upon returning home to Canada, I spent countless hours working on different pieces, experimenting and gaining a deeper understanding of all that is possible with this incredible medium.
It was in my most recent trip back to Latin America, this time in Mexico and Guatemala, that I feel my craft took a profound leap. All of the hours of work I had put into understanding the way in which these knots interact with each other came to life when I saw what the people who birthed this craft are doing with it. A new wave of inspiration and styles came flowing out of me when I was surrounded by such remarkable craftsmanship.
I have now brought this inspiration home and have been producing increasingly skillful pieces of jewellery every day. I truly love the process, and am so fortunate for this opportunity to continue to grow.
I am also tremendously blessed to be able to share my works with the people around me. Thank you all for your continued support.
Bless up.
