gathered, grateful + growing. 🤎
a little glimpse of our thanksgiving weekend, through the frames.
this weekend was a reminder to slow down, be present with the people we love, + appreciate the little moments that make life so special.
but there’s also something quietly rebellious about choosing to live with gratitude, authenticity, + intention in a world that’s constantly taking - land, ideas, cultures, perspectives, + even the ways we live. maybe part of the rebellion is questioning what we’ve been taught, honouring where things come from, being just as authentic online as we are in real life, + choosing to move through the world with a little more awareness, honesty, + respect for the things that were never ours to take.
this year, we did things a little different. choosing to decolonize thanksgiving - starts with acknowledging that the land we gather on is Indigenous land, looking beyond the stories we were taught, honouring our ancestors voices, + raising the next generation with a deeper understanding of the history behind the traditions we celebrate. we can love our families + cherish our traditions while still making room for truth, education, unlearning, + change; because gratitude also means understanding the history of the land we call home. 🧡
so here’s to having meaningful conversations, making memories with the people we love, + remembering that the most valuable things in life were never meant to be consumed, copied, or taken for granted. sometimes, the most rebellious thing we can do is live intentionally, love deeply, + stay true to ourselves. ✨
+ a very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my beautiful Bella! 🎂 we have so much to celebrate + so much to love in this life.
happy thanksgiving + happy indigenous people’s day - may we carry a little more gratitude, compassion, + awareness with us long after the holiday ends. 🍁
show them why you are your mother’s daughter - the female revolution is finally here. ❤️🩹

“Lack of evidence.” 🙄
Sexual assault often happens without witnesses, recordings, or a written record of consent - and consent can be withdrawn at any time without leaving physical evidence.
Believe women. Listen to them + take their allegations seriously.

🧡 National Day for Truth + Reconciliation
Canada is a country built through colonization, on Indigenous lands that were taken, occupied + governed without the consent of the people who were here first.
“Oh Canada, our home on native land.”
For generations, Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their families + communities, and sent to residential schools, where they were separated from their languages, cultures + identities. Many experienced physical, emotional + s*xual abuse. Thousands of children who never returned home.
The Truth and Reconciliation Commission called the residential school system cultural genocide.
Reconciliation is not simply about remembering one day a year.
It means confronting the history Canada has often made uncomfortable to talk about + hidden for generations. It means listening to survivors + Indigenous communities, recognizing the ongoing impacts of colonialism - honouring treaties + Indigenous rights - turning truth into action.
We cannot reconcile with a history we refuse to acknowledge.
So today - make sure you listen, learn + remember the devastating impact of our government’s greed and hate.
+ tomorrow, keep going. 🧡 Every Child Matters.

“Don’t post their pictures. It could ruin their lives.”
But what about HER?
A young woman’s life, safety, trust - and relationship with s*x and men were allegedly shattered.
In a September 16 civil lawsuit, seven men are named as defendants in connection with an alleged s*xual assault at Cornell University’s Chi Phi fraternity in October 2024:
Matthew Ingalls.
Johnathan Newell.
Winston Lee.
Gillio Lopes.
Diego Sarabia.
Scott Norris.
Scott Kretzschmar.
The lawsuit alleges the then-20yr old student was pressured into consuming k*tamine and alcohol before being s*xually assaulted by multiple fraternity members.
…and then there’s the Snapchat group chat.
According to the complaint, at 1:42AM, someone posted in “Chi Phi Actives” - described as a group chat for members of Chi Phi’s Xi chapter - inviting others upstairs with the words “free p*ssy.”
News outlets also obtained video of the group conversation that reported messages including “Shop still open?” followed by “Yea.”
The lawsuit alleges 57 men were in that group chat… So what did they know? What did they see? And did anyone step in?
Nearly two years later, the criminal investigation has been reopened, with the DA saying prosecutors intend to present the case to a grand jury.
There’s a dispute over Jane Doe’s original 2024 account. The DA says she described the s*xual activity and dr*g use as voluntary and consensual. Her attorney disputes that characterization, and here’s why:
Women can be afraid to say they were abused. Sometimes, they don’t fully understand the extent of what happened until much later.
They can minimize what happened, feel ashamed or confused, and struggle to put trauma into words - especially in the immediate aftermath. That doesn’t mean their experience should be dismissed, or that those accused of such serious allegations shouldn’t be held accountable simply because the victim’s first account wasn’t perfect.
We cannot prioritize a man’s reputation over a woman’s safety. Women shouldn’t have to fight this hard to be heard.
Society wonders why today’s women are so independent and outspoken? This is why women speak up for one another, because sometimes when the system fails to make women feel safe enough, we have to make sure they know they aren’t standing alone.
So this is for Jane Doe - and every woman who has ever wondered whether speaking up was worth the risk. 💕
