A beautiful swarm I went and caught from in an elderberry tree this evening! Took two tries, they left the box I put them in earlier in the day to go back into the tree so I went back later an sealed them in an shook the rest into the box, a few stragglers that didn't make it into the box on the ground that fell off the leftmost branch, checked for queens and didn't see any so hopefully one made it into the box of bees I brought home! If not I'll be back in the morning :D
Anyone have a spare smoker? My bellows seem to have melted from some backfire as they are not actually leather like the manufacturer said but are infact some kind of rubber.
Lots of bees from these hives out yesterday foraging, going for cleansing flights and orientation flights. I think their just as excited and ready for warmer weather as I am!
(My apologies on the poor video quality, seems uploading to Facebook drastically reduces video quality)

Swarm removal. These honey bees made a Special Delivery. Call me! I’ll see that they are removed and delivered to the right address.
I'm a local beekeeper who can remove your swarm and give it a nice home! call/text 250-988-8645
In the spring, when the weather warms up, the queen bee will replace
herself and a group of worker bees will es**rt her to a new home.
A swarm will look like a big ball of bees usually clustered on a bush or tree limb.
A flying swarm looks like a cloud of bees, and can be alarmingly loud.
Generally, a swarm is good-natured, because they are filled with honey.
As time passes, they will become more agitated and irritable.
IT IS CONSIDERED UNLAWFUL TO KILL HONEY BEES!
So, it's important that a bee swarm be captured quickly.
Please call me AS SOON AS you see a swarm.

This is unacceptable and needs to be stopped, spraying these pesticides is detrimental to our health and the health of all honeybees in any of these areas, pesticides like this can and will cause colony collapse leading to the death of a great many colonies, this is unacceptable! Honeybees pollinate more than 75% of all crops, we can not have lazy power companies killing off our bees THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND NEEDS TO BE STOPPED! In the case of some of the pesticides they even contribute to causing forest fires.
