Cultivating beauty one dress at a time. About Ladey
Ladey was inspired by a lifelong passion for cultivating beauty in womenswear. Who wears Ladey?
My goal as a designer is to create dresses with a purpose—every dress is ladylike by design. It’s designed to reawaken the desire in women to embrace beauty—inside and out—and to seek, inspire and cultivate it in all aspects of their lives. Showing Alicjja the ropes (and pins, and needles 😉) of cultivating beauty! 🤍
Beauty starts on the inside—and in demi-couture garments translates to practical steps along the construction process.
Like this one:
To prevent a dart or seam imprint from forming on the right side of the garment, always place a blank sheet of paper or card-stock between the seam allowance and body of the garment before pressing—and use a silk organza pressing cloth to protect the material. This results in a flawless, heat imprint-free garment.
Beauty is in the details. 🤍🪡

Sometimes the design elements come AFTER the blank canvas is prepared—for me, this is often the perfect launchpad for creativity and beauty to unfold.
Starting with a blank canvas allows you the assess the balance, proportion, and symmetry of the elements in relation one another, and as a cohesive whole.
Whatever the process, the end-game is ALWAYS beauty. 🌸
Joy comes in many forms—mine involves a sketchbook and a flounce…or three. 😉✏️💃🏻
