Lots going on healthwise for me. Working on it.

02/04/2024

As you know, I hold today dear to my heart because of what I went through 7 years ago. Time helps, of course, but what I’m seeing now aligns exactly to what was predicted during Covid. Cancer diagnoses that are more advanced than they should be.
I cannot emphasize the need to advocate more for yourself.
The wait lists are horrendous for CT scans, MRIs & even ultrasound! At this moment mammograms are booking in OCTOBER!
If you have symptoms of any kind or lumps, bumps, etc. see your doctor. Don’t wait!

I’m published again!
Clinical Trial Hero was created by Dr. Joshi in Canada & created to provide support for those who suffer from chronic medical conditions so readers know they are not alone!
What a wonderful site!

Transitional Lumbosacral Vertebra | Bertolotti's Syndrome || "Chronic pain has had an incredible impact on my life.

On any given day I can have referred pain or sensations, radiating pain, numbness or tingling in any part of my legs or feet. Referred pain is when the spine or muscles get a grip on a nerve and that nerve sends the message to my brain that I have pain in a part of my hips, legs or feet when I actually don’t.

Understanding my diagnosis, knowing my own body and limitations and keeping within those has kept me out of a wheelchair."

Clinical Trial Hero would like to thank Pamela for taking the time to share her story.

Through stories we create connection and understanding – in relation to others, but also within ourselves. Clinical Trial Hero would like to share your story about your chronic illness in order to help others who may have only recently been diagnosed or simply need to know that they aren’t alone.

If you would like to share your story, please send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “My Story”. You are not alone. We get it!

COVID-19
One of the terms I have begun to hate the most...
I have found it interesting that as the numbers go down and the governments start to discuss opening things up that you have this one doctor from Toronto comes on and says it's WAY too early and blah, blah, blah... also talks of increasing testing.
The challenges are many with that. It is always interesting listening to someone who has been pushing paper for so long that he forgets reality! The bureaucrats in medicine who haven't set foot into reality for probably many years always just spew suggestions such as these but they forget that out on the front lines it's not that SIMPLE! It takes time, staff, supplies which all require money and everything in health care is limited by the almighty $
But there is also still a lack of understanding that to swab me today and it's negative doesn't mean that in 48 hours I won't test positive! A swab is a snapshot of that moment in time... period... it's not the end of the road for that person.
Antibody testing would tell a better story of how many people have had the virus by showing them to have antibodies and that's what we need now.
But these guys also don't realize that without lighting a fire under the economy again is important to get the $$ circulating. Yes there has to be restrictions, yes there has to be distancing still but like the doctors that I have talked to... the new normal will be a world WITH the virus in it just like the common cold or influenza is each year until a vaccine is produced and widely administered.

Using my writing blog for some Coronavirus tips & a little venting!

Coronavirus... what is it? Though I joke continually about it being related to not drinking your Corona with Lime I thought I would post a little something. Coronavirus is the name because the tiny little virus cell has horns that resemble what would be on a crown.
What is this new one?
It can be the cause of cold symptoms... runny nose, sinus congestion and passes in 3-5 days.
It can also get into the chest and lead to pneumonia. The people who only get the cold symptoms likely will not get it checked out.
It can also cause fever and cough and difficulty breathing.
The elderly and children are most at risk of complications such as pneumonia.
My advice to patients right now is to be vigilant! Do the same things you would do to avoid catching a cold or the flu... hand sanitizer and wash your hands before (and after of course) touching your own face.
