I truly believe that the right opportunities find you at the right time. Years before opening Glóa, I dreamed of practicing aesthetics, but I also believed that when the timing was right, the path would reveal itself. That is exactly what happened with this space.

I first viewed this room with my sick toddler in my arms, never realizing it would become the place where the journey of Glóa would begin.
Within these walls, a dream became reality.

This space challenged me, shaped me, and allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. Most importantly, it introduced me to so many incredible people. The relationships I’ve built with each of you have been the most rewarding part of this journey.

As one chapter comes to a close, another begins. While I’ll always hold this special place close to my heart, I am so excited to welcome you into Glóa’s new home beginning August 17 at 310 Woolgar Ave.

Product update 😞

EltaMD is a personal and client favourite SPF at Glóa. We were wondering why it was not being re-stocked the past few months.

Unfortunately, the Canadian distributor is no longer carrying the product. We have reached out to the company to see if and when we will be able to procure this item moving forward.

If you were an EltaMD lover, don’t worry. We carry other SPF products we love and will gladly help you find another SPF you will love to wear.

One of the most common questions we hear is, "Should I wait until fall for my treatments?" In most cases, the answer is no.

Summer is still an excellent time for many aesthetic treatments when they're paired with the right skincare and sun protection.

If you experience melasma or rosacea, you may dread the flares that come with Summer sunshine and heat. Daily SPF isn't just a recommendation—it's one of the most important steps in protecting your skin, minimizing flares and maintaining your skin health.

✨ Why choose a mineral sunscreen?

Mineral (physical) sunscreens use zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to create a protective shield on the skin against harmful UV rays. They deflect UVA/UVB rays and heat. They are generally well tolerated by sensitive skin, making them an excellent choice for inflammatory skin conditions.

Chemical sunscreens absord heat, which stimulate melanocyte production (creating darker pigment for those who experience melasma) and dilate blood vessels (increased redness and flushing for those who experience rosacea).

For rosacea, mineral sunscreens are less likely to cause burning or stinging than many chemical UV filters. Look for a formula containing at least 10–15% zinc oxide to provide reliable broad-spectrum protection while remaining gentle on reactive skin. You should also wear a minimum of SPF 30.

For melasma, protecting against both UVA and visible light is essential to help prevent pigmentation from worsening. We suggest using a tinted mineral sunscreen with SPF 50 and 15–20% zinc oxide and iron oxides.
