I am so happy and grateful that I could help — remotely — a mother give birth.

By combining my experience as an Alexander Technique teacher with my own experience of giving birth naturally twice, I could guide you toward greater presence, ease, and trust during childbirth.

I can support you in reconnecting with your body, your breath, and your natural ability to give birth with awareness and confidence.

Feel free to contact me for more information ✨

A small laundry experiment

Do you also ignore the laundry pile until it becomes… unavoidable?

This morning I finally faced mine. Lots of sheets and duvet covers—my least favorite things to fold.

At some point I picked one up and wondered:
How long does it actually take to fold a duvet cover?

So I tried it.
Less than a minute.

In my mind, “folding the laundry” feels like a huge, exhausting task. But when I looked at the actual action, it was just one minute.

That simple question changed something.
Ten minutes = about ten pieces. Suddenly the whole thing felt manageable.

I ended up folding much more than I expected, and without the usual dread.

It reminded me of something I often see in the Alexander Technique:
when we pause and look at what an action actually requires, it’s often much simpler than the story we’ve built around it.

Sometimes the hardest part of a task isn’t the task itself.
It’s the mental weight we attach to it.

I’m curious—
is there a small task in your life that feels bigger than it actually is?

This is me just after a ski lesson yesterday. If one counts a ski lesson I had when I was a child, and 2 ski lessons I took together with my son, this was the fifth lesson in my entire life. The lesson before that was 3 years ago...
My initial idea for the "story" here afterwards was: try new fields! Learn new skills, get new experiences, etc.
But unfortunately, the lesson started with me falling twice. It took time for the teacher to grasp what I was after, and that speed didn't matter to me at this point. And I think he didn't explain himself well in the beginning. After falling, I managed to have 2 hours that challenged me, but I progressed and reached the point I can do blue ski trails independently. That's quite cool.
When taking off the ski shoes, I noticed it's hard to walk, but when I got down the mountain, it was really hard to climb the stairs to a bus with my little suitcase and backpack. I finished the day limping, with crutches- apparently nothing broken, fortunately.
Anyway, I guess I just wanted to tell there is always danger in such activities, and risks, and some accidents too. Will I continue to ski in the next season? I think yes!

We had a successful workshop this weekend about joints and body mapping in Mönchengladbach, together with Sandra Schättle and Petra Lorz, in Frühjahrsworkshop by Irma Hesz.
Here I demonstrate the movement mechanism of bones around a joint.

A nice twist: Normally I work with musicians using the principles of the Alexander Technique, and show them how to facilitate playing and move better while playing, but this weekend, I actually showed Alexander Technique colleagues how to blow the oboe, to give them an idea about the instrument! It was a cool experience, as some of them reported.

I prepared a discussion slot for our teacher's seminar, with the themes: patience and movability. It was an interesting and inspiring process, to look for citations from F. M. Alexander regarding those topics, and then together with my colleagues Filine Pracht and Sabine Grosser to form questions and discussions in smaller groups. Now I am happy and thankful- it went pretty well!
