PADS, DIGNITY, AND HOPE: MISS TIKO/MISS MAFLEKUMEN MOBILIZE COMMUNITY TO FIGHT PERIOD POVERTY ON MAY 28
A powerful community-driven initiative is set to unfold on May 28 as MISS TIKO/MISS MAFLEKUMEN lead a campaign aimed at tackling period poverty and restoring dignity to young girls in need.
The initiative seeks to ensure that no girlâs education, health, or self-confidence is disrupted simply because she cannot afford basic menstrual hygiene products. Organizers say the campaign is built on a simple but urgent message: MENSTRUATION 𩞠SHOULD NEVER BE A BARRIER TO OPPORTUNITY.
Through donations and community support, sanitary pads will be distributed directly to vulnerable girls, providing not only essential hygiene materials but also a renewed sense of dignity and inclusion. Every contribution, organizers emphasize, goes straight into the hands of girls who need it most.
Beyond material support, the event also aims to break the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation by encouraging open conversation and collective responsibility. Advocates believe that building a PERIOD-FRIENDLY society begins with awareness, compassion, and action at the community level.
Residents and well-wishers are being called upon to take part in this mission by offering their support and contributing in any way they can.As May 28 approaches, the message remains clear and compelling: with community effort, no girl has to be left behind because of her period.
