Who else loves soup season?! Especially when we’re talking PUMPKINS! 🎃
I accidentally just made the best pumpkin soup ever! No recipe, just little old me throwing stuff in. Just goes to show you don’t always need to follow recipes to get a tasty nutritious meal.
Soups are an incredible way to up your veggie intake, and filling and comforting all rolled in to one!
Creamy spicy pumpkin soup:
*3/4 roasted pumpkin.
*1 x medium onion.
*4 x cloves garlic.
*2 x cups chicken stock.
*2 x cups water.
*splash almond milk cream.
*curry powder.
*curcurmin powder.
*black pepper.
Season to taste and finish off with a spinkling of lightly toasted pumpkin and sesame seeds and enjoy! The seeds gave the soup a delicious nutty crunch.
** if you want to make it vegan/vegetarian just swap for vegetable stock.
Amazing benefits of pumpkins:
*Rich in vitamin A.
*Rich in betacarotene.
*Help keep eyesight healthy.
*Nutrient dense.
*Low calorie.
*Could help with weigh loss.
*High Vitamin C, Iron and fibre.
*Help towards healthy heart.
*Aid healthy skin.
Right I’m going back for round 2!

Tuesdays are for purple smoothies! 💜
Trying out a new pea/h**p protein powder. So far so good AND it’s tasty.!! Watch this space... Why add pea/h**p protein to your smoothies I hear you ask?
*excellent source vegan protein.
*great iron content.
*high quality protein.
*can aid in muscle growth.
*help towards weight loss.
*good for heart health.
Smoothie:
*handful frozen blueberries
*half a banana
*1 scoop pea/h**p protein powder.
*1/2 cup almond milk.
*1/2 cup water.
Et voila... a very quick and nutritious smoothie! Chuck in a handful of spinach and it’s even more nutritious! Perfect for breakfast on the run for those busy bees or after your workout.
I LOVE frozen organic berries... they last longer and are more affordable than fresh organic. A great little bonus is they act as ice cubes too.
Also, the other half of the banana I didn’t use, I popped into the freezer to use for tomorrow. No time for wastage over here!

Does anyone else find it difficult to think of different or exciting new ingredients to use in salad at home?
I find myself sticking to the same old usual suspects and get bored and then don’t end up eating salad so much. So I have decided to jazz things up and get experimental.
Today’s salad inspiration eaten out was so tasty and heaving with goodness it was ridiculous.
*Baby spinach leaves
*Seitan
*Pink cauliflower rice
*Roasted aubergine
*Pomegranite seeds
*Pumpkin seeds
*Broccoli sprouts
Drizzled with a little EVO oil and a squeeze of lemon... YUM.
In this small bowl the nutrition value made a serious punch!
What are your favourite or unique ingredients you like to add to your salads to jazz them up?

Back home from a wonderful Christmas and New Year with family and friends and with a little bit of excess baggage and bloat? We certainly are... Holiday season sure is a time to be jolly but sometimes we take that as carte blanche to eat and drink everything in sight rather than listening to our bodies and practicing moderation.
Today in our house we are kicking off 2019 with a 3 day juice and soup cleanse. Giving our over used and clogged digestive system a break and nourishing our bodies with lots of fresh nutrients.
1 1
3 x collard greens
3 x stalks celery
1 x cucumber
2 x carrots
1 x apple
1/2 x lemon
1 inch fresh ginger
Great tools to help further detoxing:
*Sauna/Steam bath
*Dry brushing
*Supplement with milk thistle and/or NAC
*Get moving and sweaty
*Magnesium chloride or epsom salt baths
Bloat, fatigue, brain fog be gone!! Welcome svelte, energised and motivated gods and goddesses!
Who else is starting 2019 off on a healthy vibe? If so, what are you doing?

Some pros and cons of the beloved cup of joe.
One important point regarding coffee, is not necessarily the coffee itself but how the person drinking it reacts, positively or negatively. Our bodies are all so different, as the age old saying goes “One size does not fit all.” Listen to your body and how it reacts.
Pros:
*full of antioxidants.
*increase in energy levels.
*keeps you regular.
*helps with motivation.
*aids brain function.
Cons:
*addictive.
*can cause anxiousness.
*sleeping difficulties.
*can raise blood pressure.
*can cause indigestion.
Moderation is also key and how you take your coffee. Laden with sugar or syrup will definitely out way the positive effects.
For me one cup a day with a splash of coconut or almond milk in the morning has a positive effect. So I enjoy that guilt free pleasure and don’t feel bad.
How does coffee effect you?

How can we get more greens into our diet?
Use in salads, soups, juices, smoothies, omelettes or as a side dish. I try and make a rule that I have something GREEN (whole food obvs) with every meal.
Best way to eat greens for the most vitamin/mineral uptake possible?
•Raw is best for maximum vitamin/mineral uptake.
•Juicing is also fantastic as long as you use a juicer with a low heat output. E.g a masticating juicer.
•Steaming.
BENEFITS:
•helps immune function.
•high in fibre.
•loaded with vitamins/minerals.
•great source of folate.
•help towards disease prevention.
Eating more leafy greens is experientially one of the best things you could do for your body. The End.
P.S. if possible organic is best 💚
