The new 3D-printed ECHO Chair collection by ZHA for .Design explores an echo as a geometric condition rather than an acoustic phenomenon. Instead of repetition, an echo is understood as a transformation—a single geometric logic unfolding into multiple structural, spatial and material expressions.

3D-printing with recycled plastics, Nagami has created a new ecosystem for architecture and design—recovering what others have left behind, transforming waste into design, ready for a new life. From residue, form is born.

Generated from two continuous surfaces emerging from a shared structural edge, one surface of the ECHO Chair becomes an echo of the other; evolving from the same underlying geometry while assuming a different role. From this line of contact, one surface forms the seat and base, while the other develops into the backrest and supporting structure. Conceived as a single continuous system, the chair dissolves the distinction between structure, surface and ergonomics.

Developed through an iterative research process at ZHA Lab, the ECHO Chair combines computational design with large-scale additive manufacturing. Produced through continuous-extrusion 3D printing, the chair is fabricated as a single uninterrupted process, where geometry, structure and fabrication emerge simultaneously rather than through the assembly of separate parts.

The ECHO Chair collection by ZHA for Nagami is currently showcased within the free-to-visit LONDON CREATES exhibition curated by ZHA and Archisource at The Truman Brewery, London until 26 July 2026 (11am–7pm).

High Light explores the balance between lightness and verticality.

Designed by Eugeni Quitllet EuGeni Quitllet , its slender sculptural form rises effortlessly, allowing light to flow through translucent surfaces robotically 3D printed from recycled plastic. The visible print layers become part of the design, revealing the manufacturing process rather than hiding it.

Made to order in Nagami’s workshop in Spain, each piece transforms recycled material into a contemporary lighting object with a quiet architectural presence—one that shapes the atmosphere whether illuminated or at rest.

High Light explora el equilibrio entre la ligereza y la verticalidad.

Diseñada por Eugeni Quitllet EuGeni Quitllet, su esbelta silueta escultórica se eleva con naturalidad, dejando que la luz atraviese superficies translúcidas impresas robóticamente en 3D con plástico reciclado. Las capas de impresión permanecen visibles como parte del diseño, mostrando el proceso de fabricación en lugar de ocultarlo.

Fabricada bajo demanda en los talleres de Nagami, en España, cada pieza transforma material reciclado en un objeto luminoso de presencia arquitectónica y contemporánea, capaz de definir el espacio tanto encendida como apagada.

Nebula. Light, folded into a column.

Designed by Manuel Jimenez Garcia Manuel Jiménez García and 3D printed with recycled plastics in one continuous line, Nebula turns waste into a slow spiral of warm light. Switched off, it stands quiet — a silver monolith, the toolpath still visible on its skin.

Limitless. A vortex of energy, standing still.

Designed by Lovegrove and 3D printed with recycled plastics in one continuous line, Limitless rises exactly as its designer describes it — curve after swelling curve, light breathing out between each one. The woven surface filters the glow like fabric; switched off, the vortex stands still: a dark sculpture holding its energy.

Diseñada por Lovegrove e impresa en 3D con plásticos reciclados en una sola línea continua, Limitless asciende tal como la describe su diseñador — curva tras curva, la luz respirando entre cada una. La superficie tejida filtra el brillo como una tela; apagada, el vórtice se detiene: una escultura oscura que guarda su energía.

LIGHT AFTER MATTER

Last week at CAN Ibiza 2026 Contemporary Art Now , the Light After Matter collection came to life. What began as an exploration of recycled plastics and robotic manufacturing became a space where light, material and design met through conversations, encounters and shared curiosity.

Thank you to everyone who visited us and experienced the collection. The response was beyond what we imagined.

The exhibition brought together new lighting pieces alongside our latest seating design, all robotically 3D printed in Spain from recycled plastics.
