What are the complications of tuberosis removing the upper wisdom tooth:

1) Oro-Antral Communication - OAC:
This is the bigger danger, as the roof of this bone area is often the floor of the Maxillary Sinus. If the fracture is large, the mouth cavity may open up the nasal pocket, causing breathing problems or fluids from the nose.

2) Acute Bleeding (Hemorrhage):
The area contains important blood vessels (such as the great palatine artery), and fracture of the bone may result in controllable bleeding with cotton only.

3) Delayed healing :
Due to the loss of part of the bone and a large empty space, the wound may take longer to heal.

4) Problems with fitting braces in the future:
Losing this hinge makes the jaw "flat" from the back, making it difficult to stabilize mobile braces later on.

It's not enough to just bite the cotton:
If there is contact with the nasal pocket, a Suturing court should be performed to close the wound immediately.

💊Medications: Prescribing antibiotics and anti-inflammatory nasal inflammation to prevent sinusitis.

👨‍🏫👩‍🏫Instructions: Alert the patient not to "blow" the nose or sneeze vigorously to ensure the wound does not open.

🌍🦷 World Oral Health Day 2025 – Making a Difference!

On March 20, AAU dentistry students, led by EDSA Addis Ababa Branch, took action at their clinical attachment sites, Yekatit 12 Hospital, and My Little Angels Primary School to promote oral health.

Under this year’s theme, “A Happy Mouth is… A Happy Mind,” we:
✅ Provided free dental checkups at Yekatit 12 Hospital
✅ Taught oral hygiene and proper brushing techniques at My Little Angels Primary School
✅ Advocated for better oral health awareness at clinical sites
