Hadith

"وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-{ لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ اَلْمَوْتَ لِضُرٍّ يَنْزِلُ بِهِ, فَإِنْ كَانَ لَا بُدَّ مُتَمَنِّيًا فَلْيَقُلْ: اَللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَا كَانَتِ اَلْحَيَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي, وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا كَانَتِ اَلْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ [1]‏ .‏"

Anas (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"None of you should wish for death due to any affliction, which might have affected him. But if he feels compelled to wish for it (due to extreme distress that he feels he cannot bear), he should say: “O Allah! Grant me life as long as life is better for me, and let me die when death is better for me.” Agreed upon.

87) ... أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ (2) عَنِ النَّبِيءِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ فَلاَ يَغْمِسْ يَدَهُ فِي الإِنَاءِ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَهَا ثَلاَثاً، لأَنَّهُ لاَ يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْ يَدُهُ».

93) ... أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيءِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِلُقَيطِ بْنِ صُبْرَةَ: «إِذَا اسْتَنْشَقْتَ فَأَبْلِغْ إِلاَّ أَنْ تَكُونَ صَائِمًا». وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ أُخْرَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ بِهَذَا السَّنَدِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِلُقَيْطِ بْنِ صُبْرَةَ أَوْ لِغَيْرِهِ: «إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَضَعْ فِي أَنْفِكَ مَاءً ثُمَّ اسْتَنْثِرْ».

"وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أتي ليلة أسري به بقدحين من خمر ولبن، فنظر إليهما فأخذ اللبن، فقال جبريل صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ ‏"‏الحمد لله الذي هداك للفطرة لو أخذت الخمر غوت أمتك” ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏"

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
On the Night of Al-Isra (the Night of Ascension) the Prophet (ﷺ) was presented with two drinking vessels: one full of wine and the other one full of milk. He looked at them. Then he took the vessel which was full of milk. Thereupon Jibril (Gabriel) said: "Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah) Who has guided you to that, which is in accord with Fitrah (i.e., Islamic Monotheism; pure nature of Islam). Had you selected wine, your people would have gone astray."

This hadith highlights the importance of respect and attentiveness during Friday sermons.

The Prohibition
The Prophet (peace be upon him) prohibited sitting in a specific posture while the imam is delivering the sermon. This posture involves:

1. Sitting on one's hips
2. Erecting feet
3. Sticking them to the stomach
4. Holding them with hands

The Significance
This prohibition emphasizes the need for respect and attentiveness during Friday sermons. By avoiding this posture, Muslims demonstrate:

1. Respect for the imam and the sermon
2. Attentiveness to the message being conveyed
3. Discipline and self-control in worship

Practical Application
During Friday sermons:

1. Sit in a respectful and attentive manner
2. Avoid distractions and maintain focus on the sermon
3. Show reverence for the imam and the message

Hadith

"وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يعتكف في كل رمضان عشرة أيام، فلما كان العام الذي قبض فيه اعتكف عشرين يومًا ‏(‏‏(‏رواه البخاري‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏"

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to observe I'tikaf every year (during Ramadan) for ten days; in the year in which he passed away, he observed I'tikaf for twenty days.

Hadith

وعن عائشة رضى الله عنها قالت ‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ ‏"‏إذا أكل أحدكم فليذكر اسم الله تعالى، فإذا نسى أن يذكر اسم الله تعالى في أوله، فليقل، بسم الله أوله وآخره‏"‏‏.‏ ((رواه أبو داود والترمذي))

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When any of you wants to eat, he should mention the Name of Allah in the begining, (i.e., say Bismillah). If he forgets to do it in the beginning, he should say Bismillah awwalahu wa akhirahu (I begin with the Name of Allah at the beginning and at the end)."

عن عمر بن أبى سلمة رضى الله عنهما قال‏:‏ قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏‏"‏سم الله وكل بيمينك، وكل مما يليك‏"‏.‏ ((متفق عليه))

'Umar bin Abu Salamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), said to me, "Mention Allah's Name (i.e., say Bismillah before starting eating), eat with your right hand, and eat from what is near you."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

وعن النَّوَّاسِ بنِ سَمْعَانَ رضي الله عنه قال: سَمِعْتُ رسولَ الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقولُ: ((يُؤْتَى يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ بِالقُرْآنِ وَأهْلِهِ الذينَ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ بِهِ في الدُّنْيَا تَقْدُمُه سورَةُ البَقَرَةِ وَآلِ عِمْرَانَ، تُحَاجَّانِ عَنْ صَاحِبِهِمَا)). رواه مسلم.
فيه: فضيلة لمن حفظ سورة البقرة، وسورة آل عمران وعمل بهما.

«991» عن أَبي أُمَامَةَ رضي الله عنه قال: سَمِعْتُ رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: ((اقْرَؤُوا القُرْآنَ؛ فَإنَّهُ يَأتِي يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ شَفِيعًا لأَصْحَابِهِ)). رواه مسلم.
في هذا الحديث: الأمرُ بتلاوة القرآن، وأنَّه يشفع لأصحابه، أي أهْلِهِ القارئين له، المتمسِّكين بِهَدْيِهِ، القائمين بما أمر به، والتاركين لما نهي عنه.
