Why we use Arctic berry seed oils.

The berries of the North contain more than their vibrant colours and distinctive flavours. Within their tiny seeds are oils naturally rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants and other valuable plant compounds.

Arctic berry seed oils are a particularly beautiful botanical ingredient to work with. The oils we use are obtained through supercritical CO₂ extraction, a gentle and highly efficient method that uses controlled pressure and temperature to extract the oil without organic solvents.

This method allows the valuable components of the seeds to be obtained as clean, concentrated botanical oils, preserving the qualities that make them so interesting for skincare and haircare.

They bring another dimension to our herbal oil infusions. While the herbs carry the character and qualities of the plants themselves, the berry seed oils contribute nourishing fatty acids, antioxidants and other naturally occurring plant compounds.

This combination of Nordic herbs and Arctic berry seed oils runs through many of our formulations, bringing together different parts of the northern botanical landscape in a single formula.

From forest berries to finished ritual, every botanical has a story.

The botanicals behind BLOOMING ROOTS were chosen with the roots in mind.

At the heart of the formula is our own herbal oil infusion of wild nettle, meadowsweet and yarrow, together with garden grown peppermint, chamomile and calendula. These herbs bring soothing, balancing and stimulating qualities to the scalp, while supporting circulation and a healthy environment for the roots.

The herbal infusion is complemented by Arctic berry seed oils from blackcurrant, sea buckthorn and raspberry. Naturally rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins, they provide deep nourishment and help keep the scalp and hair conditioned and resilient.

Pumpkin seed oil and rosemary oil bring another layer of root care, supporting follicle health and circulation. Jojoba, squalane and grapeseed oil help keep the formula lightweight while providing nourishment and moisture to the scalp and hair.

And then there is wild bergamot and pine, bringing stimulating and refreshing qualities to the scalp and the fresh, green character of a Nordic forest.

Every botanical has a purpose. Together, they create a carefully considered blend for nourishing the scalp, supporting healthy roots and creating the foundation for stronger, fuller looking hair.

The art of the herbal infusion.

There is a certain patience to working with plants.

Our wildcrafted and garden grown herbs are harvested in season, dried slowly, and then immersed in oil for six weeks. Over time, the oil takes on the colour, aroma and botanical character of the herbs, creating an infusion that becomes part of our formulas.

Meadowsweet, nettle, yarrow, chamomile, calendula, mint and other Arctic herbs are prepared this way before finding their place in our skincare and haircare rituals.

The process begins long before formulation. It starts with the plant itself, the season in which it is gathered, and the care taken in preparing it.

The botanicals in WILDFLOWER FOREST were chosen for a reason.

At the heart of the formula is our own herbal oil infusion of wild yarrow and meadowsweet, together with garden grown chamomile and mint. These Nordic botanicals bring soothing, calming and balancing qualities to the cleansing ritual, while helping the skin feel comfortable and refreshed after cleansing.

Then come the Arctic forest berries: lingonberry, blackcurrant and raspberry seed oils. Extracted with CO₂, these precious oils are naturally rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants and other plant compounds that help nourish the skin and support its natural barrier.

Wild bergamot, blue tansy and pine complete the botanical blend, bringing additional calming and clarifying qualities, as well as the distinctive scent of a northern forest in bloom.

Every plant has its place in the formula.

The result is a cleansing oil that does more than remove makeup, sunscreen and daily impurities. It cleanses gently while surrounding the skin with botanicals chosen to soothe, nourish and support its natural balance.

The Finnish forest is more than a landscape to us. It is one of the places where our botanical story begins.

Among pine, spruce, birch, mosses and wildflowers grow many of the plants we work with: meadowsweet, nettle, yarrow, fireweed, and an abundance of northern berries.

The conditions here are distinctive. Long summer days and intense seasonal light are followed by cold, dark winters and a short growing season. The plants have adapted to this rhythm over generations, becoming part of an ecosystem shaped by the North.

We look to these botanicals for their individual qualities, but also for the relationship they have with the landscape around them. Where a plant grows matters. So does when it is gathered and how it is prepared afterwards.

Many of these plants are gathered from Nordic forests at the right point in their season, then carefully dried and prepared for our formulas. Some become herbal infusions, others are ground into fine powders. Northern berries become rich seed oils that bring another part of the forest into our formulations.

This connection to Finnish nature is woven throughout Nörre Nordic, from wildcrafted botanicals and garden grown plants to the finished rituals created for skin and hair.

The forest is not simply an inspiration. It is part of our botanical foundation.

The plants are always the starting point.

For Blooming Roots, we brought together botanicals chosen specifically for the scalp and roots, combining wild Nordic herbs, garden-grown plants, and Arctic berry seed oils.

Our own herbal oil infusion brings together garden-grown mint, calendula, and chamomile with wild-harvested meadowsweet, nettle, and yarrow. Each plant is gathered in season, carefully dried, and slowly infused, allowing time for its botanical qualities to become part of the oil.

The infusion is complemented by Arctic sea buckthorn, blackcurrant seed, and raspberry seed oils, rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins. Pumpkin seed oil supports follicle health and fuller-looking hair, while rosemary and wild bergamot bring stimulating, circulation-supportive qualities to the scalp.

Every botanical has its place in the formula. Together, they nourish the scalp, support its natural balance, stimulate circulation, and help create a healthy foundation for strong, resilient, fuller-looking hair.

The quality of a botanical formula begins with the plants themselves.
Where they grow, the soil they take root in, and the conditions they adapt to all shape the compounds they produce.

Chamomile, calendula, cornflower, and blackcurrant leaf grow in our own garden under the long days of the Finnish summer. Here in the North, the growing season is short and intense, with plants exposed to extended hours of daylight before the seasons begin to turn again.

We follow these plants from the first seed to the final harvest, gathering them in season before slowly drying and preparing them for our formulas.

This closeness to our ingredients is an important part of how we create. Because the character of a botanical formula is shaped long before the first ingredients are blended together. It begins in the soil, with the living plant and the northern landscape in which it grows.

Blooming Roots Botanical Scalp Treatment Oil was created for moments when you can slow down and care for both your scalp and your mind. Infused for six weeks with carefully selected Arctic botanicals, it helps stimulate and nourish the scalp to support healthy hair growth.

Massage the oil into your scalp, leave it on for 1–4 hours, then wash as usual. A simple ritual that allows the botanicals time to work while giving yourself a moment to slow down.

Arctic forest berry oils, lingonberry, blackcurrant, and raspberry, nourish with essential fatty acids and antioxidants, supporting the skin’s natural barrier and leaving it soft and resilient.

A gentle blend of bergamot, blue tansy, and pine helps calm redness and supports recovery, while bringing a subtle forest freshness to the ritual.
