It's been a while since I posted post so let's jump on with latest trend.
A new fun photo

I am Wendy and I qualified as a Foot Health Practitioner in 2020. I absolutely love my job! It's not a job many people would enjoy (which people tell me daily)

I love being able to visit people in their own homes as they find travelling difficult. I also see clients who can travel in my clinic based in Torry.
I have enjoyed meeting my clients and forming relationships with each and every one! I enjoy a cuppa with quite a few.

As an FHP I provide

πŸ‘£ routine, non-surgical foot care to maintain mobility and comfort
πŸ‘£ Treat common issues like corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, and fungal infections
πŸ‘£ Trim, file, and thin nails
πŸ‘£ Diabetic Foot Health checks
πŸ‘£ manage foot hygiene, and monitor for problems, referring severe cases to podiatrists.

I am also trained in Onyfix Nail bracing which helps correct involuted nails helping prevent ingrown nails and can also help repair split nails.

I am fully qualified and insured (this is very important to check when hiring someone to care for your feet) I keep up to date with my CPD courses to further my knowledge and skills.

If I cannot accommodate and provide an appointment I will always find you someone that I know and trust.

πŸ‘£

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all my clients a happy and healthy 2025.

2024 has been a great year, without the support from all my clients and their families this would not be possible!

2024 saw myself attending, updating and planning new treatments as well as new service for the homeless and vulnerable.

Your continued support is appreciated
Thank you
Wendy

What causes thick nails?

πŸ‘£Trauma: A single event like stubbing your toe or dropping something on it, or repetitive trauma from ill-fitting shoes or certain sports

πŸ‘£ Aging: As you age, your nail growth rate slows down, and blood circulation decreases, making it harder for your body to fight infections

πŸ‘£ Fungal infections: A fungal nail infection can cause your toenails to thicken

πŸ‘£ Skin conditions: Psoriasis and other skin conditions can cause thickened toenails

Thickened toenails can be permanent if the nail root is damaged.
