TC Extensions and Beauty

This week I had a bit of a pricing reality check — and honestly, the numbers made me stop and think 😳

One of my lovely VIP clients pointed out that, for the amount of time I spend on her lashes, what she was paying me just didn’t add up — and she volunteered to increase it herself.

That made me properly sit down and look at my pricing.

I think over the years I’ve become so focused on keeping things affordable and looking after my loyal clients that I’ve stopped looking at what an appointment actually costs me.

My infills often take around 2.5 hours because I don’t rush them. I remove outgrown lashes, lash every healthy natural lash that is safe to lash, and natural lash health always comes first.

Then there are products, insurance, electricity, heating, laundry, disposables, card and booking fees, training, equipment, cleaning, admin… all the boring bits nobody sees 😂

And of course, being self-employed means no paid holiday, no sick pay and no employer pension contribution.

When I actually worked it all out, I realised that on some appointments I’m effectively earning less than minimum wage once my business costs are taken into account.

After 14 years in the industry, that was a bit of an eye-opener.

So I am going to review my prices and VIP memberships.

I’m not about to suddenly whack everyone’s prices through the roof 😂 I still want my clients to feel they get really good value.

I just need to make sure I’m not doing that by undervaluing my own time, experience and body in the process. ❤️

Emma has been one of my lovely long-term VIP clients for years, and recently she messaged me because she felt the amount she was paying no longer reflected the time, care and attention I give her.

She actually asked me to increase her own monthly subscription.

That meant more to me than she probably realised.

After all these years, TC has never been about getting as many people through the door as possible. It’s always been about looking after the women who trust me, building proper relationships, and giving each appointment the time it deserves.

When somebody chooses to say, “I value what you do for me enough to pay you more,” that hits differently.
