Why might we DECLINE your microneedling appointment? 👀

Sometimes the safest treatment decision is not to treat you that day.

There are several reasons we may need to postpone your microneedling, including:

💉 Recent Botox or dermal filler – we need appropriate time between injectable treatments and microneedling.

☀️ Recent significant UV exposure or sunbeds – particularly if your skin is tanned, sunburnt or showing signs of UV stress.

🧴 Not stopping certain active skincare when advised – retinoids, exfoliating acids and other potentially irritating products may need to be paused before treatment.

🔥 A compromised or irritated skin barrier – if your skin isn’t ready, neither are we.

🦠 Active infection, cold sores or inflamed skin in the treatment area can also mean your appointment needs to wait.

Your pre-treatment instructions aren’t there to be annoying 😂 — they’re there to help us perform your treatment safely and get the best response from your skin.

And if that means saying “not today”, we will. 🤍

Good practitioners don’t just know how to perform microneedling. They also know when not to. 🪡

Microneedling vs RF Microneedling: What’s the difference?

Same needles… but two very different approaches to skin rejuvenation! 👀

🪡 Classic Microneedling

Creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate the natural healing response and encourage collagen production.

A great option for improving skin texture, certain types of acne scarring, fine lines and overall skin quality.

⚡ RF Microneedling

Combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, delivering controlled heat into the skin to stimulate collagen remodelling.

For me, RF microneedling is often my preferred option when treating mature and photoaged skin, particularly when we’re looking to address skin laxity, wrinkles and changes in skin firmness.

But here’s the important part…

RF microneedling isn’t automatically better just because it uses more technology!

Your skin type, concerns, pigmentation risk and treatment goals all influence which approach may be most appropriate for you.

And for some clients, classic microneedling may be exactly what their skin needs. 🤍

At Teò, we don’t believe in a one-treatment-fits-all approach. Your treatment should be selected based on YOUR skin, not simply which machine is the most advanced.

Treating acne scarring: Why ONE treatment isn’t always enough!

Acne scarring is one of the most common concerns we see in clinic, but treating it isn’t always as simple as booking a course of microneedling.

Different types of acne scars require different approaches, and this is where treatment stacking comes in. 🤍

At Teò, we may combine different treatments and skincare strategies to target scarring from multiple angles:

🪡 Microneedling – stimulates collagen production and remodelling to help improve the appearance of certain atrophic acne scars.

💉 Polynucleotide injections – may be considered as an additional treatment to support skin quality, although evidence for their effectiveness in treating acne scars is still emerging.

✨ Chemical peels – can help improve uneven skin tone and superficial texture, depending on the type and depth of scarring.

🧴 Vitamin A (retinoids) – may be incorporated into your homecare routine to support skin cell turnover and collagen production, when appropriate for your skin.

But here’s the important part…

Not every acne scar should be treated in the same way.

Ice-pick scars, boxcar scars and rolling scars can respond differently to treatment. Some may require more targeted approaches, particularly when scarring is deep or tethered.

And treatment stacking doesn’t mean throwing every treatment at your skin at once! Each procedure needs to be carefully planned, with appropriate recovery time between sessions.

The goal? A personalised treatment plan that addresses YOUR scarring, rather than a one-treatment-fits-all approach.
