Billy’s World

Curtains open. Kettle on.
Billy shouts, “MUM THEY’RE HERE.”

I thought delivery.
It was dolphins.

Actual dolphins just cruising past like they’ve popped round for a nosey.

Billy at the window doing full commentary like he’s live on BBC One. Completely calm. Completely in his element. Convinced they were checking on him personally.

Honestly, if they start paying rent I won’t be surprised.

Did anyone else see Billy’s mates this morning? 🐬💙

Today was a very important delivery day.

Billy’s Mindful Souls subscription box arrived and honestly, the excitement was next level.

He absolutely loves his crystals and stones. The minute the box landed he was straight into it, lifting each one out like it was priceless treasure. Full focus. Full ceremony.

Then comes the cleansing. Windows open. Serious face on. Stones lined up with military precision as if they’re about to attend a board meeting about world peace.

Billy loves reading about their meanings and healing powers…

Well.

Correction.

Billy loves me reading about their meanings and healing powers.

So there I am, giving a full dramatic presentation on the spiritual properties of Labradorite while he nods wisely like a tiny guru who already knew all of this information anyway.

As much as I genuinely enjoy it, some of those descriptions are a hard slog. By the third paragraph about “amplifying cosmic vibrations” I need a cup of tea and possibly my own crystal for stamina.

But the joy he gets from them is beautiful. He connects with them in such a deep, instinctive way. He chooses his stones depending on how he feels that day. Calm. Protection. Confidence. Good energy.

And the best bit is this sense he has… it’s something he’s grown himself. Not something he’s copied from me. It’s just him.

So yes, our house now has excellent vibes, a slightly exhausted reader, and approximately 427 crystals placed in very specific locations that absolutely cannot be moved.

Wouldn’t change it for the world ✨💚

Foil wrappers like tiny silver battle shields.

I was filling Billy’s weekly tablet box today…

And honestly… it stopped me in my tracks.

This is just some of what he takes.
Not the “as and when needed” ones.
Not the extras.
Just the daily line up.

If there was a loyalty card for the pharmacy, we’d own the building by now.

And yes, I know this is little compared to what some families manage every single day. I see you. I truly do.

But it still hits sometimes.

Behind every tablet is a reason.
Seizure control.
Regulation.
Comfort.
Stability.

These are not “just tablets”.
They are tools.
Carefully prescribed.
Monitored.
Adjusted.

It can look overwhelming.
It can feel overwhelming.

But it is also love.
It is advocacy.
It is doing everything we can to help his nervous system feel steady in a world that can feel loud.

Billy takes them like a champ.
No drama.
No complaints.

Meanwhile I’m over here needing a biscuit and a strong coffee just to organise the blister packs.

Parenting children with additional needs often means becoming part time pharmacist, part time nurse, full time worrier… and forever advocate.

And we keep going. 💚

We live on the Coast Road with amazing sea views that make you stop and stare
Countryside behind us. Waves in front of us. Sunsets that look like they have been personally edited by heaven.

It is peaceful. It is scenic.

However……

The internet? Absolutely feral.

One gust of wind and the WiFi packs its bags. A light drizzle and it starts buffering like it is running on hamster power. The loading circle has honestly been the most consistent thing in our house lately.

And when the internet drops, Billy feels it. Programmes freeze. Music cuts off. Routine wobbles. Nervous system says no thank you.

So we have upgraded to Starlink and we are currently sitting here with fingers, legs and arms crossed that this satellite in the sky behaves itself, If crossing eyebrows helped, we would be doing that too.

Stunning views. Questionable broadband.
We have chosen to keep the views and upgrade the signal.

💜🧠 EPILEPSY AWARENESS DAY 🧠💜

Today is about understanding.
About kindness.
About knowing that not all battles look dramatic from the outside.

For Billy’s World, epilepsy is just one chapter in a very colourful, loud, funny, blanket wrapped book of life 💚

Epilepsy can look different for everyone. Some seizures are big and obvious. Some are quiet and subtle. Sometimes it’s tiredness. Sometimes it’s confusion. Sometimes it’s just needing a slower day and a bit more grace.

Billy has taught me that strength doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it sings loudly at 9.30pm from the other side of the house while fully tucked into bed with three blankets and a weighted teddy 😅💚

If you don’t know much about epilepsy, that’s okay. Learning starts with listening.
If you do know about it, thank you for being part of a world that understands.

Today we raise awareness.
We lead with patience.
We choose compassion.

And we celebrate every single person living fully and bravely with epilepsy 💜

Love from Billy’s World 💚

🐝 Billy’s World Tuesday Vibes 🐝

Billy doesn’t attend his day centre on a Tuesday, so Tuesdays have officially become Bee Wells HQ 🐝💛

While most people are easing into the week, Billy is busy making his Bee Wells to sell with Little Bloom Co.. Very important work. Very serious business face. Occasionally interrupted by snacks.

The best part is how Billy chooses his colours.
Bright yellow if he’s feeling cheerful.
Green if he’s calm.
Blue if he’s chilled.
And if you see a very bold colour combo… that usually means someone played the wrong song earlier 🎶😅

Every Bee Well ends up a little different because Billy’s mood decides the vibe. No two are ever the same. A bit like Billy himself really.

I love these slow creative days. No rush. No pressure. Just hands busy, mind settled, and something lovely made at the end of it 🐝💛

Tuesday might not be a day centre day, but it’s definitely a Bee Well day 🐝✨

Today Billy and his brother are at Carrickfergus town hall with their little stall Little Bloom Co.

Billy’s latest little personal order has arrived 🌿💙
Massage oil ✔️
Sleep pillow mist ✔️
Basically… a spa day but make it Billy 😌

Here’s the science bit (because apparently I’m fun and informative now 🤓):

Smell is the only sense that goes straight to the emotional part of the brain the bit in charge of feelings, memories and calming the nervous system.
So when Billy smells his favourite scents, his brain gets the message: you’re safe, you can chill now.

Touch does its own magic too. Massage and gentle pressure help release calming hormones and lower stress. That’s why his massage oil isn’t just “nice” it actually helps his body relax and settle.

Because of his epilepsy, baths aren’t an option anymore, so we’ve found other sensory ways to keep his routine soothing. Same smells. Same touch. Same order. Big comfort.

Billy chose these himself and takes it very seriously 😌
Proof that sometimes regulation looks like oils, mists and a very important bedtime

💚 Billy’s World Update 💚

Today the Ritual of Revivals focus has switched to one of Billy’s favourite products to talk about
Vegan Wild Rose Beauty Balm 🌿

Billy loves telling people about this one because
🌿 it’s gentle
🌿 it’s vegan
🌿 and it helps skin feel calm, soft and comfortable

There’s also a Gift With Purchase available right now
✨ free gift when you spend £60
✨ available until Wednesday 11th February

Billy often recommends the small 15g jar as a try size because it’s a lovely way to test it first, and lots of people then come back for the bigger jar once they know their skin likes it 💚Billy has the bigger jar himself.

Even though it’s called Wild Rose, there’s no actual rose in it
It’s made with wild rosehip oil and a comforting blend of essential oils, which is why Billy loves it so much as it smells lush.
And instead of beeswax, it uses vegan waxes so it absorbs really nicely into the skin

Billy is really proud to be sharing products he enjoys and feels good about, especially ones that are kind to skin and thoughtfully made 🌿

If you’d like to support Billy or ask questions, just pop me a message 💚
