Last week I welcomed a new client to The Beauty Retreat.

We had a consultation through Messenger beforehand, where we talked through her concerns and what would make her feel most comfortable during her treatment. It was her first ever massage and something she had been nervous about booking for quite some time.

My goal at The Beauty Retreat has always been to create a welcoming, safe and judgement free space where clients can relax and feel comfortable, both physically and emotionally.

After her treatment, she sent me this lovely message. She didn't feel comfortable sharing her experience publicly herself and asked to remain anonymous, but was happy for me to share it in the hope that it might reassure someone else who feels nervous or self conscious about booking a treatment.

Why September is the perfect time to book an appointment.

September is that little in between month. Summer is over, but the really cold weather hasn't quite arrived yet.

It's the perfect time to take a moment for yourself before things get busy and the weather turns. Maybe your skin is starting to feel the effects of the changing weather and needs a bit of hydration and exfoliation, or your shoulders are already holding onto tension from the return to routine. Maybe you simply want an hour where you can switch off completely.

One treatment can only do so much if you wait until things have already got bad. Regular care is what actually keeps skin, muscles and stress levels in a good place, rather than hoping one big session will magically undo months of wear and tear. It's much easier, and much kinder to yourself, to stay ahead of it and avoid that winter effect than to try and fix it after the fact.

Whatever it is, don't wait until you really need it. A facial, a massage or any of the treatments I offer can be exactly the reset you need to head into autumn feeling calm and looked after.

Look at this lift!!!

I've been doing lash lifts for years, but when I came across the Korean Lash Lift technique, I wanted to add it to what I offer. It works a bit differently, closer to the root, and gives a noticeably stronger curl than a traditional lift.

I've been practising it since finishing my training, and I'm really pleased with the results so far. There's always a lovely moment when the client opens her eyes and sees the difference straight away, no mascara needed.
