Itchy ears can be so annoying!
But what causes it?

•Excess earwax - a build up of wax can prevent dead skin cells from migrating from the ear canal resulting in itching.
•Allergies - the use of products (hair sprays, shampoo etc), food allergies & hayfever can all cause your ears to itch.
•Infection - Bacteria or viruses can cause inflammation and your ears to itch.
•Skin conditions such as eczema & psoriasis can also affect the skin inside your ears.
•Wearing hearing aids or earbuds for long periods of time can also prevent wax & skin to migrate naturally from the ear canal.

Earwax removal is no longer performed by your GP and the average waiting time from referral to appointment with ENT is between 12-18 months.

If you are experiencing any ear related problems you can visit us for a full ear health screening for just £25.
If wax removal is required the cost is £60 for both ears.
