This is why menopause coaching works…

A client of mine came in with a number of symptoms, but notice a significant loss of confidence- a frequently seen symptom as part of perimenopause.

Breaking it down she felt like she wasn’t able/capable of achieving certain goals - one of which was to run a 5k.

Why did she struggle with confidence in the beginning?

💛Hormone profiles changing leading to a loss of confidence and self-worth.

What did menopause coaching do to help her?

💛Discussing what steps should could take to achieve her goal set the scene of taking the pressure out of running a 5k by breaking it down into smaller steps (no pun intended!). She left with a plan of how to achieve it, with the knowledge of having a menopause coach as her cheerleader (Pom poms at the ready!)

Yesterday she messaged me to tell me she did it sharing her journey to achieving this along with all her stats.

This has given her a spring in her step to set a new goal…

What is her next goal to keep the motivation going?

💛 she set a huge goal of conquering the Yorkshire 3 peak with her family- and she smashed it!!

It just shows that motivational conversations and support (whether with or without Pom poms) from her menopause coaching supported her belief that she could do it.

A great start to Sunday with the BIG BOOTCAMP for led by .fitness and today!

A great way to get the endorphins going (love those feel good hormones!), embrace the sunshine and vitamin d- along with connecting with other people. All of which are key points for a more balanced perimenopause/menopause journey.

Whilst doing a boot camp might put some off or doing any form of exercise might seem overwhelming right now, remember that there is support to help you on your menopause journey.

Anger…. A strong emotion that is often described as ‘rage’ by many during perimenopause or beyond. The simplistic thing can tip you over the edge- whether the dishwasher hasn’t been loaded properly or the day just didn’t start great.

Why??

Hormonal shifts playing havoc with your emotions.

What can you do about it?

Whilst some women will seek support from medics for HRT, menopause coaching can help identify patterns and triggers for emotions like these that can make you feel like you are going crazy.

Menopause coaching can provide you with a safe space to talk about how your feeling and an individualised plan can be created to support you during this chapter of life.

😴 Support better sleep�A quick brain‑dump before bed can calm racing thoughts and help you switch off.

Hot off the press- the updated Women’s Health Strategy!

So what does it say? In short:

The UK’s renewed Women’s Health Strategy aims to put women’s voices first — reducing gynaecology waiting times, improving pain management, expanding community women’s health hubs and tackling health inequalities across England.

The investment is this area of women’s health is great to see and menopause coaching is a key part of support available to help you on your journey.

Self care is an important part of maintaining your wellbeing during perimenopause, menopause and beyond (it even applies to the men!).

What does self care look like for you?
A bubble bath?
Reading a book?
Sitting in silence watching the world go by?

Whatever you are doing today- I hope it incorporates a little bit of self care (even if it’s only 10 minutes)

Exercise… everyone thinks that you need to get gym gear on, get your heart rate up and get sweaty. However during perimenopause, menopause and post menopause your body may crave a different type of exercise (especially if your energy levels are low).

Walking can be an alternative form of exercise which is low impact but also gets you out in the fresh air (helping your vitamin d levels, reduce your risk of osteoporosis as well as improving your heart health.

I spotted a beautiful set of painted steps which I wouldn’t have seen if I hadn’t gone for a walk this week. Check out your surroundings and open your eyes to what is around you.
