Have you ever wondered what propolis is? 🐝

We talk a lot about honey and beeswax, but there’s another rather incredible thing made by the hive that I’ve wanted to bring into our skincare - propolis.

Bees collect sticky resins from tree buds and plants and bring them back to the hive, where they use them to seal tiny gaps, reinforce the hive and help protect the environment inside it. It’s often called bee glue, although that doesn’t quite do it justice.

That resin contains naturally occurring plant compounds including polyphenols and flavonoids, and propolis has been widely studied for its antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity.

And that is exactly why I wanted it in our next face cream.

Our Propolis Day Cream is made using a gently prepared propolis infusion, with rapeseed oil, cocoa butter and beeswax to create a beautifully comforting everyday moisturiser.

As we move into autumn - colder mornings, wind, central heating and all the things our skin notices - it felt like the perfect time to introduce it.

A little bit of what the bees use to protect their hive, brought into our everyday skincare. 🤎

Our Beekeeper’s Face Scrub has had a serious glow up 🍯✨

I wanted to take this one back to what we’re all about at Bramble Cottage - simple, nourishing skincare made with beautiful, skin-loving ingredients.

Oat, apricot kernel and bamboo give gentle natural exfoliation, helping to lift away dry, dull skin without relying on plastic microbeads.

Then there’s sweet almond oil to soften and condition, golden carrot seed oil for its naturally rich colour and skin-loving properties, and of course, honey. 🍯

The result is a rich little facial scrub that exfoliates while still leaving your skin feeling soft, nourished and cared for.

Autumn is coming to Bramble Cottage… and this might be my favourite box we’ve ever made.

Inspired by old books, candlelight, golden afternoons and that first feeling of wanting to shut the door, run a bath and get cosy for the evening.

At the heart of this season’s box is Reading Room — our warm blend of Sweet Orange, Cardamom & Amyris. Think polished wood, old books, dried botanicals and a little citrus warmth. 📖🍊

Inside are seven handmade treats, including our Reading Room body butter, bath & shower oil, honey scrub and candle, alongside our Autumn Harvest honey soap and Autumn Rose lip balm.

Everything is made in small batches here in West Sussex with honey, beeswax, botanical oils and essential oils. 🐝

The seasons are beginning to shift here at Bramble Cottage and I can feel autumn creeping closer… my absolute favourite time of year.

Cosy days, darker evenings, soap making, beeswax melting and all the autumn scents coming back into the workshop.
