I can always guarantee gorgeous results when I use 💛

You will have seen that I’ve used this brand for a while now so I’ve mastered exactly how to use the 3 step curl range and the quantities I need 👌🏼 I used to use way too much of the curl spray (which can be quite drying like hair spray) and too much oil to SOTC (which can leave curls a little greasy and weighed down)

PRODUCT QUANTITIES ARE KEY ✨

Do you find your results get better the more you use a product? What are your best tips for using the correct quantities in your routine? ✍️✨

🌱check your product ingredients 🥥

when transitioning and getting your hair back to good health the first thing you want to look at are the products you’re using and their ingredients 🌻🌻🌻

many hair products contain harmful sulphates, silicones, parabens and drying alcohols which can strip your hair of its natural goodness..

are some of my absolute favourite hair products:

🌞 they’re all 100% toxic free and free of parabens, sulphates and silicones
🌞 they’re vegan and cruelty free
🌞 the natural substances used are completely biodegradable and won’t harm the planet 🌎

Products featured :
🌼 the RICH range shampoo and conditioner
🌼 the Boombastic hair mask
🌼 the 3 step curl range - the curl booster, the curl spray and the capillary argan serum

why I love Cocunat so much 💛 ..

✨ was one of the first product lines I tried in my curly transition and I’ve never looked back. I’ve been using these products for the last 7 months and they always guarantee me a great wash day!

🌞 they’re 100% toxic free and free of parabens, sulphates and silicones
🌞 they’re vegan and cruelty free
🌞 the natural substances used are completely biodegradable and won’t harm the planet 🌎

The 3 step curl range is the perfect styling trio:
1️⃣ I make sure my hair is very wet after washing. I rake the Curl Booster through ensuring even coverage and then use a styling brush (a Denman) to brush the product through and encourage definition by shaking after brushing each section
2️⃣ I take the Curl Spray and ‘seal’ the caste made by the Booster by spraying all over (you only need a few sprays) - think of this as a setting spray.
3️⃣ I diffuse my hair until COMPLETELY dry (it takes a while!) and use a couple of drops of the Capillary Argan Serum into my palms and then scrunch out the light ‘crunch’ and fluff up the roots!

Have you tried this range yet? 💛

Hair health transformation for 🌸🌙

My journey so far:

🌙2018:
I was starting to leave my hair curly more and more as my GHD straighteners were literally on their last legs! I had never heard of the Curly Girl Method, I was using ‘normal’ cheap shampoo and conditioner and the pink curl creme from Boots for styling. I didn’t have a clue how to care for my hair after so many years of straightening it every day.

🌙April / May 2020:
After going for a cut with a curl specialist in February 2020 I started to hear about the Curly Girl Method and started my own research. I know, where had I been right!? I started following MOST of the rules (apart from I was still using a brush occasionally) I started by paying CLOSE ATTENTION to my product ingredients and stopped using anything which contained sulphates, silicones and drying alcohols.
I stopped using shampoo and followed a No Poo routine for a while - only using the Cocunut CoWash and Leave in Conditioner by .

I then started this account to track my progress and what a learning experience it’s been ever since! I literally feel like I’ve been on a course for curly hair and hair health (thank you all so much!) and my curls are reaping the rewards!
I gradually ditched the strict rules of the Curly Girl Method after a couple of months as I feel my hair needs shampoo (especially when I’m currently only washing about once a week!) I also feel that for me personally I NEED to brush my hair but I now know the best ways to do this to not cause any damage (for me it’s dry brushing after applying an oil) or gently detangling in the shower whilst I’ve got my conditioner in!) Trying to detangle with my fingers in the shower was way too tedious.

🌙 Now:
This last photo was taken in October 2020 after one of those ‘perfect’ fluke wash days using .
I’m gradually working my way through lots of different brands and products and experimenting with lots of different methods and techniques - I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds and how my curls look in the next few months - hopefully longer! 🧜‍♀️

9 months of 🖤✨

It’s been a crazy year in every way and I don’t know about anyone else but I’m EXHAUSTED physically and mentally.. I’m so glad I started this account in lockdown 1.0 and distracted myself with all your beautiful hair pics ✨

Seeing these photos side by side has made me realise how much healthier my curls now look and how far I’ve come 😅🤩
It’s also made me realise that my hair is actually growing since the big chop (July) whoop! It never feels like it is and it makes me sad!

Today was my last day at work until 2021 - I’ve never felt like I’ve needed a break this much after this year! 😁❤️🎄 Roll on sleeping, eating, drinking and a digital detox 💕
What are you most looking forward to this Christmas?

THIS IS DAY 5 HAIR - no refreshes!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Sorry, I’m a tad excited about this because it shows me how much I’ve learnt about my hair and how t care for it properly! Read below to see what I’ve been doing differently 👇🏼✨

P.s Don’t get me wrong - it’s not amazing, there’s quite a lot of frizz and weird curl shapes going on but overall..👌🏼👌🏼

I recently bought a satin bonnet and it’s been an absolute game changer when it comes to wash days lasting - it’s from and it’s such beautiful quality 💛 I love it!
I’ve also been keeping this on when getting dressed in the morning and saving my curls from being frizzed up by pulling jumpers over my head (which I used to do and instantly regret it!)

I’ve also been trying to STOP playing / detangling and just general touching my hair - I normally play and pick at the ends when I’m concentrating at work or feeling a tad anxious but I’m making myself put it up straight away when I start - need to break the habit!

Curlies - any other tips for making your wash days last? 💛✨

Ad PR products used: the full range which works beautifully on my hair - full review post coming soon!

your quick How To guide to dreamy curls with 🥥🌞

• I start by washing my hair with the RICH range shampoo and conditioner
• I apply a leave-in conditioner before styling
• using the 3 step Curl Range - I start with the Curl Creme and rake this through from roots to ends, using a Denman brush to evenly distribute and encourage more even curl clumps
• scrunch, scrunch, scrunch
• next I use the Curl Spray* to set the curls before diffusing (or air drying if preferred) - my hair takes too long 😅 *theres no set order for the spray and serum - experiment!
• after diffusing I apply 3-4 drops of the Capillary Argan Serum to my palms and break the cast to soften curls
• I carefully separate larger curl clumps with my fingers and fluff up my roots for added volume

I’ve been using this range for around 5 months now and I really love how it works on my hair - *I have medium porosity, fine curls which are 3a-3c spirals*

dry brushing ✔️

I recently started brushing my hair dry and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to brushing it wet..

I would highly recommend pre-pooing before dry detangling (using an oil on your scalp and raking it through to the ends) so your hair will already have some kind of barrier before cleansing ✔️
Detangling your hair with an oil in it means that when it comes to washing it’ll be much easier to run your hands through it so you’ll have less fall out ✔️

I have noticed a lot less fall out since dry brushing (my hair ball is literally half the size!)
Wet hair is far more elastic than dry hair making it a lot more fragile and prone to damage and snapping. I can physically feel that dry brushing pulls a lot less hair out then brushing my hair whilst wet.

Have you tried dry brushing? Do you prefer it? 👩🏻‍🦱
