Hybrid Set of Wavy Dreads 🙃

How many of you out there are requesting HYBRID wavy dreads and know what it is you are actually requesting?

Here is a set of 100% SYNTHETIC wavy dreads made using Kanekalon. We have added a low temperature SYNTHETIC fibre to the dreaded section to create a softer, comfier less itchy feel.

Some would say hybrid because we have combined a high and low temperature kanekalon, never the less they are still 100% SYNTHETIC

The two terms are not opposites 🤭

Hybrid Vs Synthetic... let’s clear it up 👀

Every single day I receive enquiries asking whether my wavy dreads are “hybrid” or “synthetic” — and honestly, I think there’s a lot of confusion around what these terms actually mean.

So let’s break it down 👇

The definition of synthetic is simply:
man-made / artificial fibre.

ALL hair used for synthetic dreads and braiding hair is synthetic — typically made from Kanekalon or similar fibres. Regardless of the crochet method used, the fibre itself is still synthetic, unless of course someone states its 100% human hair!

I’m seeing the word “hybrid” used a lot lately, but in most cases this simply means multiple types or textures of synthetic fibre are being blended together for the dreaded section.

For example, in our wavy dread sets shown in this image:
✨ the curly/wavy sections use a high-temperature Kanekalon fibre
✨ the dreaded sections include blended low-temperature Kanekalon fibre

Both fibres are still synthetic.

The word “hybrid” often makes people think a completely different or more premium type of hair is being used — but that usually isn’t the case. More often, it refers to adding a low temperature hair to the dreaded section.

So when people ask me:
“Are your dreads hybrid or synthetic?”

My answer will always be:
“They’re synthetic” — because they all are.

What you probably want to ask instead is:
