Little update on the burglary that happened in the early hours of yesterday

The police officer I spoke to on 101 was terrible, she gave me the wrong information, told me to clean up and do what I needed to do. Luckily I wasn’t having that and I emailed a great contact in Essex police, he is a brilliant officer and he called me to say that CSI were coming.

They got the guys fingers prints from all 5 shops that he targeted that night and he was arrested. He is in custody. The officers involved have really tried to put a strong case together and have worked hard, but unfortunately it’s up to a judge and a lot of them are too lenient. So he will probably get a slap on the wrist and a fine, which isn’t a punishment and he won’t learn from it.

He robs shops constantly, co-op during the day and now burglary at night. It’s an escalation of crime. Where will this end if he isn’t punished now?

The small amount of money that he took from me is nothing, the cost of fixing the door was something I obviously wasn’t accounting for.
The real cost is the anxiety this causes, the worry, the if I go to sleep am I going to wake up to this again? I’ve had problems with antisocial behaviour since I took on unit and that has caused me sleepless nights, constant anxiety and worry. This on top is another level. People don’t talk about this side of owning a business. You hear about the highs and some people post about the financial side (which is another constant worry) but the mental drain antisocial behaviour has on you is awful. Now we add in the worry of being broken into. It’s violating. Knowing a stranger has been in your space, touching your things with their grubbing thieving hands. Having the audacity to take your belongings. I work so hard. I took 4 days off to see my parents in August. While I was there I worked on my laptop everyday. So it wasn’t time off from work, I just wasn’t at the studio. Before then I couldn’t tell you that last time I had a full day off.

Small business owners work bloody hard! They don’t deserve this.

One whole year 😍

Some of you have been here from the beginning and I honestly can’t show you how much that means to me. I’m so very grateful for everyone how has stepped through the doors l, even if you didn’t stick around it was still a pleasure to meet you.

I’ve learned a lot and now realise I can’t do this all on my own anymore which is why I’ve taken on a couple of instructors and will be taking on some more so we can bring a bigger timetable and different experiences to you all.

We will be able to welcome new members now the timetable is going to grow

You will see me less in classes, as my rehab training has taken off so much so that I can’t fit everyone in (you can’t possibly understand how much this means to me, it’s been my dream to have my own place and really help people live more pain free and mobile lives)

I would be so honoured if some of you could pop down on the 10th to celebrate with us.
