🍂 October is Menopause Awareness Month
… because apparently being an adult wasn't already hard enough! 😂
One minute you’re freezing, the next you’re wondering if someone has secretly turned the heating on. 🥵😂
Then there’s the tiredness, rubbish sleep, feeling stressed, aches and pains, brain fog… and wondering why you’ve walked into a room. 🤦♀️😂
Sound familiar?
Massage and reflexology can be a lovely way to give yourself a bit of time, relaxation and TLC during a stage of life that can sometimes feel like your body has decided to do its own thing!
A massage can help you switch off, relax those tired muscles and give you some much-needed time for yourself. There’s also emerging research suggesting massage may help with things like anxiety, fatigue and some aspects of overall menopause wellbeing.
Reflexology can offer that same lovely opportunity to slow down and relax, and recent research into reflexology during menopause has shown some promising results around symptoms, fatigue, mood and sleep — although more research is still needed.
Basically… you might not be able to stop the hot flushes, but you can at least make sure you get an hour where nobody is asking you for anything! 😂🤎

🧠 World Mental Health Day – 10th October 🤎
We’re all guilty of putting ourselves at the bottom of the list sometimes.
There’s always something else that needs doing, someone else who needs us, or a million little jobs waiting to be ticked off.
So today is a good reminder that looking after yourself matters too. 🥰
A treatment isn’t going to solve everything, of course, but having that little bit of time where you can properly switch off can make a lovely difference.

☀️✈️ ANNUAL OCTOBER SUNSHINE BREAK! 🍹🌴
Time for me to practise what I preach… 😂 A whole week of relaxing and resetting in the sunshine.
No massage couch, no clients, no wondering if I’ve put the heating on… just sunshine, poolside lounging and cocktails! 🍹😎
I’ll be back soon, hopefully tanned (or at least less pasty!)

🌙 The nights are getting darker… but the treatment room is still open! 🤎
There’s something lovely about coming in from the cold, getting wrapped up warm and settling down for a cosy treatment while it’s dark outside. ✨
Whether you fancy relaxing reflexology, a soothing massage or, in some people’s case… a warm massage with a bit more oomph! 😂
The relaxing lights are on, the room is warm and cosy, and it’s the perfect place to escape the darker evenings and have a little time to yourself.
Dark nights = cosy treatment time. 🥰

💛 World Dyslexia Awareness Day – 8th October 💛
This one is a little more personal for me…
There’s dyslexia in our family, so we understand that it can come with its own differences and challenges. We know that everyone experiences dyslexia differently, and sometimes things that seem simple to others can take a little more time, patience or a different approach.
For us, it’s been a reminder that dyslexia looks different for everyone. It’s not simply about spelling or reading — it can affect the way you process information, remember things, organise yourself and learn.
And sometimes the things that can be frustrating can also come with some pretty amazing strengths. Creativity, problem-solving, thinking differently and seeing things from a different perspective are all things I really value. ❤️
I think one of the biggest things I’ve learnt is that being dyslexic doesn’t mean you can’t do something — you might just need to find a different way of doing it.
So today, I’m celebrating all the dyslexic people out there — children and adults — who are doing things their own way. 💛
Dyslexia isn’t a weakness. It’s just a different way of thinking. 💛

One of the things I love about my job is getting to know my clients. 💜
Even from that first treatment, I’m learning what you like, what you don’t, and what helps you feel comfortable. Obviously, I won’t know everything straight away, but every little bit helps me make your next treatment that bit more personal.
And as you come back, I get to know you a little better each time.
Sometimes it’s the pressure you prefer, the areas you’d like me to concentrate on, or whether you’d rather have a chat or just enjoy some quiet time.
It’s those little things that make each treatment different, and I really enjoy that part of my job.
I’ve been providing massage and reflexology in the Chesterfield area for several years now, and I still feel very lucky to do what I do. 🥰
Thank you to everyone who continues to support my little business. It really does mean a lot. 💜

And just like that, World Reflexology Week comes to an end 💜
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing a little more about reflexology this week, from the feet that started it all to the treatment room where the magic happens.
For me, reflexology is about more than working on the feet. It’s about having a little time to yourself, switching off from the outside world and giving your body and mind a chance to slow down.
And yes, I still love the fact that I get to do this for a living! 🥰
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported my business, booked a treatment, recommended me to a friend or simply taken the time to like, comment or share my posts. It really does mean a lot.
If you’ve been thinking about trying reflexology, perhaps this is your little sign to give it a go. 💜
📍 Treatments in Staveley, Chesterfield, or in the comfort of your own home.

Every pair of feet has a story… 👣
From little feet finding their way around the world to grown-up feet that have walked thousands of miles, our feet are with us through it all.
They take us on adventures, holidays, days out, long walks… and probably far more trips to the kitchen than we'd like to admit! 😂
And somewhere along the way, we forget to look after them.
So here's your reminder during World Reflexology Week:
Your feet deserve a little love too. 💜👣

Just think about how much these two have to put up with! 😂👣
Walking to work.
Running errands.
Doing the school run.
Shopping.
Standing all day.
Going for a walk.
Going on holiday.
And occasionally being forced into a pair of shoes that definitely weren't designed with comfort in mind! 😂
Our feet literally carry us through our entire day, yet most of us don't think about them until something starts hurting.
Maybe World Reflexology Week is the perfect time to show them a little appreciation. 💜
What's the most your feet have had to endure this week? 😂👇

A little foot fact for your Thursday… 👣
Have you ever noticed how much attention your feet get during a reflexology treatment?
You might feel a little tenderness in some areas, a lovely sense of relaxation in others, or simply find yourself enjoying the fact that someone else is looking after you for a change! 😂💜
Every treatment is different, and everyone’s experience is their own. That’s part of what makes reflexology so interesting.
And let’s be honest, how often do we actually stop and think about our feet? They’re usually too busy getting us from A to B! 👣
If you’ve had reflexology before, what do you enjoy most about it?
Or, if you haven’t tried it yet, what would you like to know? 💜
